If you look carefully on the doors, looks as though its been sideswiped. But looks pretty low and theres no other damage on the side.
Maybe the cops thought that it could be driven away after the accident and clamped it?

Methinks drunk driver, hits divider, loses control and ends up the place where it is now, gets clamped. Ok where is the prize?

Woes of a tall boy!

This happened last night 230 am. My house overlooks the NH8 & so the narration. Two cars, an Esteem and a Wagon R involved in a crash.

The Esteem was cruising high speed on the service road when all of a sudden, the tall boy Wagon R swerved from the NH8 into the service lane & just in front of the Esteem. Both the drivers panicked & cars got out of control! No impact. The Wagon R shook like crazy & toppled first. The Esteem tried to avoid the Wagon R steered into the dirt & toppled.

As an eye witness, I wouldn't trust the tall boy Wagon R with high speeds.

My dad spotted this car.
Its a Verna that has toppled over.

I don't have any news about what went wrong.
But I assume that the car has toppled more than once.

Look at A-pillar of Esteem and look at C-pillar of Verna. Both have caved.
These say more than a word about the integrity of their body shells.
Esteem, the case is know, but the most weird thing here is verna. I think that it hit something at high speed, may be huge rock. Even the wheel is out of alignment.

Your post (and the headline) seem to indicate some kind of prejudice against Tall boy cars.
What i clearly see in these pics is that its the Esteem which is toppled upside down and looks to be more severely damaged.

And as a witness to those pics, i won't even trust the short boy Esteem with High speeds! It looks scary.

Remember: There are more parameters than just the "Tall Boy" looks which indicate a car's chances of toppling in high speed crashes.

@ DCEite

Posted without prejudice. I was watching the road before, during and after the accident & if you believe me, the Wagon R was surely beyond control. What I saw was demonstration of theory of stability issues with a high CG & mushy suspension. The Esteem screeched nearly to a neat halt but sadly it managed to hit the dirt track and ended bottoms up!

Nevertheless, you have all the rights to your opinion.

Trust Delhiites for that!! (Dont mean to offend anyone, but well; Delhi roads are getting pretty bad these days - and no, I have never gotten into a fist fight on the road!)

Or may be due to car hitting road divider and turning upside down.
