BTW - In the same pic I notice that your right ORVM is cracked. If it indeed is, then polite request to you - please get it fixed ASAP mate. We at T-BHP believe in safe driving and also keeping our vehicles in near-perfect conditions to avoid any kind of mishaps
Well noticed. that happened 5 minutes before the incident when a scooter guy tried to squeeze past. It has been replaced.

Cost effective R&D would be a good corporate keyword TATAs could use. I have seen quite a few indicas stranded on city roads with broken axles and suspensions.

@Raj, I'm surprised a lot more by your response. Isn't is a generalization that's far too much ? Heck, M&M doesnt even have a car ..

Enough of OT, let's drop that. There can be enough reasons for a component failure. Any discussion on why this car had that problem will be hypothetical.

sir, any specific reason why you mentioned M&M here? or is there any relation between M&M not having a car & tata's component failing? heck, atleast M&M makes durable SUVs!

if i guess right, you maybe thinking that i am anti-tata or an M&M boy, but sorry... thats not the case! i am myself a tata owner. its because of the numerous incidents i have seen, experienced & read that evoked such a response from me, so dont be suprised friend.

anyways, lets not get OT. especially this topic is very touchy, you know!

See what happenes when a NHC hits Wagon R at 50 kmph from side.

This happened today morning, when two underage boys suddenly pressed the gas in wagon r and the NHC driver got no chance to stop the car.

The impact throwed the wagon r 15 m on the sidewalk. evey one was saved. (the boys in wagon r were not wearing even their seat belts).

You can also see how the impact cracked the gear stick area in honda city

It appears that the damage to the City is merely cosmetic. Never was a fan of the plasticky front anyway.

if plastic has cracked inside due to impact, then it must be more than just cosmetic.

The engine and gearbox have pushed against the firewall and into the cabin. The dashboard as a result has come forward and cracked the plastic.

I think we can here appreciate the build of Wagon R. A 1000+ kg car coming at 50 kmph and hitting Wagon R hard, hard enough to push the car around 15m away. Kudos to Wagon R. Side impact is the impact where the energy has to be dissipated in a relatively small area and Wagon R has done that well.

G2HC again proves that build quality of Honda is not that good. Our Baleno rear ended Accent at around 40 kmph and the damage was not this much. The entire engine assembly caved inside so this is not a good sign. Also I dont think that this was offset crash for G2HC. Its was as good as head on collosion, still this much amount of damage.

Thank god for the side impact beams of the wagonR, which saved the underage idiots.

BTW, is that area Saket in South Delhi ?

I just love it how people love to twist interpretations to suit their favorite brands.

Please understand that the crumple zones in cars are meant to do just that - crumple.

While the WagonR took the impact as much on the axle (see the bent tyre) and side door - a little more and one of the boys would've been history.

There's absolutely no need for interpretative song and dance, irrespective of the manufacturer one idolises
