hey, we've a Hyundai family here!

i think in my father-in-law's Accent this feature is missing. not sure because by default i depress the cluck when i start his car, will check.

The Ritz in the last page doesn't seem to be a parking accident. Moreover I can see a small tree trunk under it. Maybe someone forgot to slot in reverse and pressed the gas.

There is a report in TOI of an accident where 8 members of a family where killed. It says 15 where travelling in a Sumo and it collided with a lorry. The cause of the accident is not known yet.

I wonder why many accidents happen to Pilgrimage vehicles? Is it bcos of long journey, overload, night travel or all of these?

Terrible news! I agree 15 should not be travelling in a Sumo. But lets accept the facts. It happens everywhere in India. For some, they cant afford a bigger vehicle. Its very debatable when it comes to safety. However, this accident seems to be a driver error and in my opinion has nothing to do with overloading.

An overloaded vehicle might respond to driver inputs differently. For example the stopping distance might be more due to the increased momentum.

here is another case where in a overloaded M800 meet with an accident and there where 4 casualities. This incident involved an Octavia overtaking another vehicle and raming head on with the overloaded M800.

It is illegal to drive a truck w/o a rear bar. This prevents low slung cars to go under the trucks and chances of death and injury minimizes. It will still kill people if seatbelts are not worn.

Yup, that is exactly what i said.if the car goes under the truck, the collision bypasses the primary crumple zone, and generates full impact in the a-pillar.and, then it doesnt matter if youre wearing seatbelts or not.the trucks loadbay will go through those pillars like a hot knife through butter.guess which delicate piece will be next.My point was, the bars which these trucks use, are a jugaad, a way to avoid getting a ticket.once a car hits these bars, it just comes off of its tiny point-welds, and after that its just like a high velocity shell.
