Even though he tried to stop the maruti 800, it slipped and had a mild hit on the back of the other vehicle. One headlight was broken and the bonnet had a bent : these were the only visible things. Authorised workshop's estimated expense from owner was Rs. 8000, after claiming insurance (comprehensive). They found damage to inner and inner parts also. We discussed and finally agreed and got it repaired. They have done a good job. But at the time of payment, I insisted on the bill to insurance company. They were not very happy to give, but finally gave sensing my RTI possibility. It was above 25,000 !! So, seemingly simple things can cost more... much more than maruti 800, in your case.
got my car back yesterday in mint condition except the AC gas which will be filled in 2-3 days as gas not available, paid 1380/- including 250 for coolent which they drained due to negligence,

can you believe the estimate was 28k/------

had i been not there for the entire process they would have ripped me, and this estimate was when there was nothing broken except bumper and bent condenser...they deliberately over charge? and then negotiate with surveyor for his cut and bill amount?

they had shown replacement for everything except head lights. and people say maruti are cheaper to maintain, this means that 38000/- as per their estimate if headlights were to be replaced? what would had happen if the impact was bit more?

i understand their modus operandi, the estimate was on one side of sheet and billing was on other side, this means he can do whatever he wants later.

anyways i was more then happy to get my car back since it's raining here, paying just 1380/-, work done is great as good as new. so not complaints here (after all i made sure that i give attention to denter and painter)

one thing does crosses my mind. had i bought another car like vista or beat would have made me safer in impact? what if impact was more? Although this car is not meant for my highway driving but this thing happened just 5-6 kms out side city..was i stupid to buy this car just because my wife felt comfortable driving this one only and none other where i could have got Airbag and ABS??

seriously thinking to get new car with airbag and ABS for my rare highway trips or get a old bigger car like verna or sx4, every thing else be dammed but safety for family

adios

A Maruti Van caught fire yesterday at Nagpur. The van was fitted with an illegal LPG gas kit and was ferrying eight school children back home from school when it caught fire at about 2 pm.
The fire was traced to the LPG kit and not the cylinder. The fire did not luckily reach the LPG cylinder that would have been fatal for the kids and the bystanders.

seems as if it went under a trailer, but how come, Scorpios engine bay is at a good height.

Bull bar seems to have some coating of dont know what.

Very shocking to see scorpio in such a state.

Hope that there are no casualties in that scorpio. The front passenger side looks bad.

i think the Scorpio might have tumbled - the injuries don't coincide with a rear ending.

The scraped hood, damaged bull bar and damages on the A pillar on the left side all talk about the Scorpio going under something.

I think that the scorio did some last minute braking and was skidding when it went and hit the other vehicle. This is apparant from the damage from the left side and the angle at which the damage has happened . Also see the way the wheel has locked in position I berleive the driver was struggling to gain control of the vehicle when this happened. Looking at the damage the passenger compartment seems to be badly damaged, any word on the casualty?
