True sajo, but the link says he covered 16km over the busiest of areas. Perhaps he went across town and then reached Neelayam theater through a longer route?
RIP, the deceased

Exactly my thought; Swargate to Neelayam theatre is hardly 3kms.

I just hope this is an extremely one-off stray incident; such acts of violence for whatever reason (as in most western countries) are not something we should inculcate.

Yes. There is a massive traffic jam on the route. It happened a few minutes before I passed on the way. This is exactly my office route. Dandekar bridge->Neelayam->Mitramandal chowk

To tell the truth I am shaken. I can't even think of this, had I been a few minutes earlier to office, only god knows whether I would have been alive to put in this post. And today I have got my motorcycle to the office. What can I say? I am so happy to be alive, and thankful to God; to be writing this post from my office, where I have just reached a few minutes ago.

Sometimes I think I should now only drive my car. But in Pune, a 2 wheeler is indispensable.

Glad to hear that you managed to avoid this menace. I can only think of the numerous commuters, mostly school kids who would be up and about at this time of the day. What kind of impact would it have on those kids?

Exemplary action should be taken against such people so that no one, not even the maddest of persons considers assaulting public life and property ever again.

9 members of a family killed in an accident in Haryana.

Did anyone read this. I saw it as a small snippet in a news paper, and checked online. This is horrible .

Nine of a family killed in accident in Haryana

9 people were piled into a verna, and they hit head on into a truck. All perished, including 5 kids. Sad , absolute irresponsibility, such a sad loss of lives.

Per the Poona police commissioner's statement on tv, he went up to East street and turned back towards Swargate that should be 10+ kms easily. Apparently he snapped when his request for change in his shift timing for the day was turned down.

Surprising that they let him drive for a good 30 mins, and kill 9 people, and it needed a student to over power him.

So much to the response teams of police .

IMO, he should have been shot and stopped. Maniac or not, no one should be left free to kill.

What happened in Pune today is called "Going Postal" in American slang.

Going postal - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This was probably the first incidence of someone "going postal" in India this way & hopefully the last.

RIP to all the victims.

^^^ A more apt term would be "Going mental" which is what the guy seems to have become.

Sad to know of the many innocent people who lost their lives due to no mistake of theirs. If he had an issue with his supervisor, why doesn't he have the guts to take it out with that person, instead of killing unrelated people ? Beats me.

List of people and the lives this moron impacted. If he had an ego issue with his supervisor or anyone else, he should have taken it out on that person. He has managed to affect the lives of 10 other people and their families and friends in a truly reckless and violent way. Sense and sensitivity have both gone for a toss these days.

re: Accidents in India | Pics & Videos

This is the craziest thing I have heard in India, why on earth would anyone go on a killing spree in public for whatever god forsaken reason. Just look at the massacre he has created. The Pune commisioner has said he will be charged with murder, hope he does not lawyer up & get released on an insanity plea !!! This is utter crap...

Pune bus driver hits 40 vehicles, 9 dead

This is the young lad who pulled him out of the bus, thankfully he has not been harmed in anyway. The driver wanted to kill himself is what the guy says, when he pulled him out.

The student who stopped Pune's berserk bus driver

RIP to all the victims and god speed to all those who were injured.

Can't help but say this, looks like the driver took this immediately after the adventure. Any particular reason for posting this upside down? Or was it, like most other posts in this thread, an accident? Funny, whatsoever!
