re: Accidents in India | Pics & Videos

Yeah even the windshield is intact. I've seen other cases also where the tipper's front axle badly hitting car and sometimes the passengers being hurt seriously or even expired. Here the occupants of the Jag seem to have escaped unscratched. Thats a good sign, and just because of this, they might find some new customers as well( I guess so).

In the narrow highways of Kerala where most love to play Fast & Furious, its difficult to even judge who is at fault. I don't have any more details about how it happened, too.

Anyways, Kudos to Jag for the build quality.

A friend sent these horrifying pics of a crash that apparently occurred near Puttur bypass, Karnataka.
Does anyone have more info?

Oh that is a sad accident. Pity the passengers in the taxi - getting crushed like that for no fault of theirs. Did that antique lorry lose control on the road?

Very likely. Look at those worn out right side tyres of that truck. It seems the entire truck is still resting on the car. Hope that the car occupants had a few moments to escape. No tyre skid marks of cars path.

Accident near Coimbatore. 2 engineering students died when their car crashed into a tree. The engine of the car separated and fell 100 feet apart.

Is that a Dzire?

Do you mean, the driver couldn't make it? Looking at the photos, it feels like that. Poor chap.

Looks like Z trim SX4 to me. I can't think of anything other than loss of control while going at excessive speed as the cause for this accident. Loss of control could be because of what you can typically expect on Indian highways: mad/stray animal/pedestrian/cyclist/slow moving vehicle that was where it shouldn't have been.

Oh that's sad.. The car is smashed beyond recognition. It looks like an Amaze of Chevrolet to me.

That is an SX4 alright.

The cause of "loss of control" is always because the driver was going too fast for the conditions. On Indian highways, there is invariably some animal/pedestrian/cyclist/slow moving vehicle where we think they should not be.

Received these pics over WhatsApp. My friend said they were shared on the Facebook group
https://m.facebook.com/groups/teamfiatmotoclub/

According to the post there, the crash occurred at Bhopal. Surprisingly, all the four occupants of the car are safe. Three occupants were unhurt and only the driver received a few stitches. The car, obviously was declared as a total loss.

Loss of control is used almost like "act of god." It isn't: it is act of human. Loosing control means we never really had control.

Anyone can drive any car at any speed, until the unexpected happens. Nobody knows when it will come to test us.

That must be the saddest sad story I have ever read. :(

What a pity, a moment of such happiness shattered.

Any idea what happened? Looks like the car rammed into a divider and then toppled.

The last picture, it is a tad gory. Maybe removing it would be better for the sensitive readers?

No, except that the driver, in his 20s, died under the circumstances mentioned, about 3 km from my home. The car is parked at the local police station.

As I posted, I was wondering when someone will complain about the graphic nature of the pic, and perhaps report the post to have moderators take it down - and there you are, the first one to comment after my post! All accidents are gory, and this whole thread exists just to remind everyone to remain alert and drive safe.

This set of pictures should be made into a poster as a reminder against drink-driving, so that any reader, sensitive or insensitive, does not forget the outcome of driving under the influence of alcohol.
