Pics: Accidents in India

This Eon hit the electric pole after taking a sharp 90deg turn (to avoid a man / animal ?) on the single land road near my home in Kerala. Saw it there around 9AM last Monday - not sure whether it happened at night or early morning.

Accidents in India | Pics & Videos-imageuploadedbyteambhp1516781612.684579.jpg

The concrete pole was badly damaged - the internal iron structure visible & the Eon's front left also badly damaged - not seen in this picture.

The pole was replaced the same day by KSEB folks.

re: Accidents in India | Pics & Videos

To avoid the oncoming Tata Ace the driver skipped to the leftmost side of the road. And the left tyre got punctured by a sharp stone. Somehow managed to get control of the car...
Then a lady suddenly walked down the road, in order to save her the driver took sharp left and fell down in a pit and the car flipped.
All the passengers inside the car were saved , without a single scratch.
This proves Tata Nexon's build quality.

Thank God, the lorry driver was saved from Legal & other consequences. This incident was said to have happened in the town, Pudukkottai in Tamilnadu.

In the video, you cannot also ignore an another moron in bike going across the road without bothering to stop and look for traffic, before crossing.

I am really not sure where to put this :
Not even able to understand, if its an accident, a Suicide attempt, bad pedestrian or what else: Qualifies for everything & many more titles.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...lfie-clip.html

Apparently trying a "Selfie" with a moving train & eventually knocked down by it.
The news article says, he is lucky to survive, hence can guess no casualty. However, some comments on this news on the website are hilarious.

Regards,
Saurabh

Saved because of the truck driver's attentiveness and air brakes. Being not loaded also would have helped as momentum is less.

This was in today's newspaper as well. The man was fined Rs:500/- (should have been more in my opinion) for trespassing on railway property. The man warning him in the video is supposedly a home guard who took him to the RPF after the incident happened.

Agree with you, 500 is less. Why not put him behind bars on charges of "attempt to suicide".
I am wondering if the Home Guard was actually posted there for some purpose. Had this guy died after the hit, I have no clues what action the Home Guard had to face. Its nice of the guard to have taken him to RPF, in whatever state he was.
This guy really got away with really "less treatment". Not sure if still in hospital, whatever the case be "be in hospital or not" he should be there for some time. Only after seeing the agony on his family's face, he may (probably) realize the importance of his life which was kept on line for a pathetic selfie.

He was not taken to the hospital. According to the reports, he just fell down on impact. He did not suffer even minor scratches, majorly because the train driver had applied the emergency brakes on seeing that he was not moving away.
There have been so many instances of deaths and major mishaps while taking a selfie. And still, people do not want to learn
I agree, I think he was very very lucky that nothing happened and he got away with a minor fine. Morons like these should be put behind bars

re: Accidents in India | Pics & Videos

I am surprised that idiot survived the train hit.

Even with the driver hitting the brakes and slowing down , the momentum a train carries is enormous for a average human body .
I witnessed a smilar local train, EMU/DEMU, hit a cow at the exact same spot on the train, the edge, the cow did a spin or two in the air and landed on the side of the track, but the speeds were higher than this.

He is plain lucky for his stupidity.

There are just so many such idiots who merge from smaller lanes onto main roads without a care for the oncoming traffic. To top off the idiocy, they will not even stay in the slow lane, but cut across to the faster lanes.

A little common sense for their own good would help others as well.

Yes, Helmets, sure: valid mesage in itself, but... How is wearing a helmet supposed to help an idiot who rides into the side of a truck?

stupidity has a new yardstick. If he did not have a family, I wouldn't be glad he survived.

good brakes on the truck, helped by the moderate speed he was doing. Had he been 10% faster, it would mean 21% further to stop and the scene would change from 2 escaped to 2 dead.
