This has always been observed. Empty truckers are more dangerous as they dont usually get to test the power of their ride because of the load and when they do, they dont know how to control it.

At high speeds the wheels of a truck lock and being fully inflated tires (due to the load they carry), they dont provide much grip to hold on to the road.

One can only imagine how fast the jeep was travelling. The impact must have been pretty hard as it has crumbled the front end.

My Friends Swift....

This is what happened to my friends swift.... while overtaking the truck, the truck walla simply turned right and hit his swift...

Everyone was safe, not even a scratch... but the loud noise and seeing the car, one can imagine what the passengers must have felt for a while!

Gosh!! The Swift has been ripped apart!! Good to know no one was injured!

As for the Jeep, good that the driver hit the tree and not any other innocent soul.

Thought it was an Indica at first. But the ORVM's indicate it is a Getz.

Thats a bad crash. Hope no one was injured.

The swift is battered. Luckily no one was injured. Speaks a lot about the crash worthiness of the swift.

A friend's car, happened a long time ago.

Car - 2007, Swift LDI. Brand new, barely 2 months old.

Modifications - Fitted with yoko C-drives n new rims (Dunno which make).

Accident -

Was a 4 lane road, no divider in between n traffic moving both ways. Frend was going in the fast lane doing about 70.

Biker was overtaking somebody on the otherside and came onto his lane (Remember no divider). Didnt turn till the last minute, to avoid hitting him frend had to turn hard left. Doing this he cliped a cab on his left, sending him into a drift going left. In order to avoid going into a spin, he turns hard right, car oversteers and next thing ya know, he's in the oncomming lane going the wrong way backwards.

BAM!!! straight into an oncomming innova (which luckily wasnt doing a very high speed) and he goes spinning again nearly hitting pedestrians on the footpath nearby. Finally, car comes to a stop hitting a pole.

Injuries - Sealtbelt and window glass cuts on chest and hand due to whiplash.

Damage - Broken rear windshield, drivers side window, taillights, bonnet, boot, etc.

No damage to rims n tyres.

Since it's a new car and the damage is so extensive I would try claiming for a total loss. the chasis has definitely taken a beating and the car would not be safe to drive.

Really tough, they will not give total loss since engine is intact. Insurance will allocate a chassis replacement. Yes its possible and you can even order the body and chassis with factory paint.
