The Baleno looks like it had hit a pole or tree, but I think the occupants were wearing seat belts and that why there is no mark of human hitting the front windscreen.

It took it well.

I didnt get this part? Do you mean to say that insurance will ask you to rebuild the car, even if it costs more?

@vikram: if you were referring to this particular car, then yes might be lil difficult to write off.

BUT there is Total Loss/Write Off clause, and i personally know people who have used the same, without much hazzle, since the car including the engine was damaged beyond repair.

Yup you will get depreciated value OR market price which ever is less, also no insurance and road tax cover under insurance claim.

he was, thats why I'm smiling. it was my first car. dont worry, I'm not a monster, he came out with just 3 stitches to his ear lobe. apiece of it is still missing though, lost some where on NH17 at mangalore.

@vikram-d I agree- this car does not look like a total loss from the outside.

my santro which was hit yesterday by a maruti 800 taking a left turn, just behind my house.
a lady was talking on the mobile phone when instead of pressing the brake, pressed the throttle..

damages to the 800: big dent on the bonnet, bumper came off, engine radiator and a/c compressor with the coil needs to be replaced, right front fender minor dent, right headlight and turn indicator light needs replacement.

damage to my santro: broken headlight(replacement cost-Rs 3800), bent fender (replacement cost-Rs. 1600 fender+2000 paint) and damaged front bumper (replacement cost-Rs. 1200 for bumper and Rs. 2,500 for paint)
