Volkswagen Suite - A brilliant initiative & campaign

Came across this video, an amazingly brilliant customer empathizing initiative along with the corporate social responsibility.

Drowsy driving is dangerous driving.
People chose rather to drive on drowsy than stay in a roadside motel, which are old, usually unclean and lack basic amenities. Volkswagen decided to change this with their 'Suite'

Should've been friendly on the pocket too for VW! Crappy hotels in godforsaken routes which no one would otherwise lodge into, and fix up one or two rooms - must have come real cheap. After all, you don't need to work up rooms in decent hotels, and customers are anyway not short of good options in areas close to the city. Nice one nevertheless VW!

What has this to do with Indian car scene.

And i don't think it will be even implemented here. All these VWs and other companies are concerned about here is doing *business*. "Customer emphasizing" does not sell here.

Great Idea by Volkswagen. Very customer centric.

But the thing is, they wont even think of implementing this in India.

re: Volkswagen Suite - A brilliant initiative & campaign

Great idea! But not relevant for India. Again, not because the company does not care, but frankly we do not have the basic infrastructure
  1. Not that many people drive very long hours in road - typical trips are 6-8 hours
  2. We plan pitstops in cities/towns and probably google for a decent place
  3. Rates of acceptable hotels is not that high
  4. It might not be a good enough reason for people to buy a VW in India. Lot of basic things like safety features are low on our priority list. Even 24/7 breadown support figures too low

Brilliant. Talk about creative advertisement!
Now having said that i know that it's not happening in India any time soon. Even if it did I'm sure the place will get thrashed by one or the other people who will stay there. I feel bad saying this, but it's the bitter truth.

Now that's called a customer experience, absolutely brilliant idea. Its more important to provide excellent service at every opportunity and this one is something even more. It is really an *out of the box* thought from a company.

Maybe a great idea to attract attention, but implementation would be next to impossible. How can you maintain just one room alone in good condition, in an otherwise dingy motel. How will they 'insulate' that room from the others in a building with slum like corridors and ambience.

No No! : P. Unless I'm very mistaken I'm sure that was just the Ad to get the current reality across in a creative way.
I think the rooms will be in Motels of acceptable standards. If this comes to India it would be really nice. Perhaps offered as a optional package to frequent long highway fliers.

Great concept wherever it has been implemented. Truly customer centric, when they placed door locks that can be opened with their VW car keys (not having to be very front desk dependent). And free.

Oh! And lovely song in the ad.

Great idea that may take ages to come to India. But, Maruti/Hyundai/TATA if you are listening - get more rooms, one in each dingy place will not do!

But as mentioned by Daewood, wonder how this logistical nightmare will be managed by VW, I'm guessing, this will fizzle down in a year or so.
