We, Indians, fervently hope awareness about safety belts, child seats, ISOFIX tethering systems and most importantly, availability of ISOFIX compatible child seats at reasonable prices percolate faster amongst our driving masses, leading to a safer environment for our little one's

Pardon my ignorance, but won't a rear-facing child seat (almost) serve the same purpose?
It is easy to teach adults about "not being in the path of a deploying airbag" but try that with kids, anyone?

Here's the video of how it works. Am not sure whether the airbag / its activation will cause more good or harm. Would wait until safety organisations independently test & certify it. Until then, regular child seats from reputable brand names are best.

Though a good idea, I am concerned how this affects toddlers. My one year son likes to play with the shoulder belt, in such a scenario this might cause more harm.
