Re: True 5 seaters: Affordable cars with five 3-point seatbelts & headrests

Adding more models active in 2021 to the thread:

XUV300 - Available from W6 variant onwards (was available in W4 during the 2019 launch.

Quoting from (Mahindra XUV300 : Official Review) - Rear bench gets 3 headrests - all are on the firmer side. All 3 occupants get 3-point seatbelts as well. Center passenger sits a little higher up due to the slightly elevated seatbase; he also sits a little more in the front because of the center armrest. Yet, the width of the car makes it easier to sit three abreast:

Seltos - Available only in HTX and onwards.

Quoting from: (Kia Seltos : Official Review) The seat has contours for support & 3 adjustable headrests have been provided. Rear seat is better for 2 adults and a kid (rather than 3 healthy adults). Also, the middle area of the backrest protrudes (due to the armrest) and the seatbase is elevated in the middle as well:

Upcoming: Skoda Kushaq - expected to be available in base variant Style too.

Quoting from the TeamBHP's official preview - Rear seat has contours for support, while three 3-point seatbelts and 3 adjustable headrests have been provided. Rear seat is better for 2 adults and a kid (rather than 3 healthy adults). Cabin width is limited. Also, the middle area of the backrest protrudes (due to the armrest) and the seatbase is elevated in the center as well:

Honda City : offers 3 fixed headrests. The Yaris is the only other C2 sedan offering 3 headrests (and adjustable too).

Trivia:
* None of Maruti's models offer the 3rd headrest including S-Cross ! It is however available in most models sold in Europe.

* None of Tata's models offer the 3rd headrest including Harrier and the 7-seater Safari.

* 4m CSUVs: XUV300 is the only model to offer the 3rd headrest and also has the widest dimension of 1821mm.

* Mid-size SUVs: The best-selling Creta doesn't offer in any variant. Seltos however offers in HTX onwards. Nissan Kicks offers a tiny headrest. The Duster offers a better fixed headrest.

* D1 SUVs: XUV500, MG Hector and Hector Plus offer the 3rd headrest.

* MUVs : Innova Crysta 8 seater offers an adjustable 3rd headrest. Marazzo does away with a small fixed headrest. Ertiga offers none.

As per updates in the XUV 300 official review thread, Mahindra has deleted 3-point seatbelts from Nov 2020.

Dear All,

You are aware that value optimization is a key activity in the life of a product. Basis customer feedback, product changes are done to ensure we offer maximum value at the most attractive price possible.

In line with the same, middle passenger seatbelt for the 2nd row will change from 3 point to 2 point on W8(O) (VIN cut-off: L2L74873). Website & brochure have been changed to reflect these changes.

Re: True 5 seaters: Affordable cars with five 3-point seatbelts & headrests

Some more additions to this list:
The Volkswagen Taigun gets both

The MG Hector 5-seater gets a 3-point seatbelt that comes from the panel behind the top of the seats, and a head restraint.

The MG Astor gets both

The Kia Seltos (at least some variants) has a rear centre head restraint but no 3-point seatbelt.

And the Škoda Slavia, based on multiple camouflaged drive videos, seems to have a rear centre head restraint though confirmation on the three-point belt is awaited.

The Škoda Slavia joins the list with both, a three-point seatbelt and a head restraint for the centre rear seat:

With the launch of the Slavia and discontinuation of the Rapid, Škoda becomes the second mainstream manufacturer after MG whose entire fleet is fitted as standard with three-point seatbelts and head restraints in all seating positions, ISOFIX anchorages and Electronic Stability Control (ESC).

The upcoming India-spec Volkswagen Virtus could have adjustable head restraints in all seating positions.

Note that the XUV 300 in South Africa gets the 3 point seat belt:

'3-point seat belt on all seats (the Indian model has a lap belt in the rear-middle seat, while the South African model has three-point belts on all rear seats, which addresses the GNCAP note on four-star child protection).'
