| ![]() So now India gets to buy the car that it loves, is safe, and VFM too. By the way, do we get the car with same spec and build here in India too? |

| ![]() Shouldn't the title of the thread be "Australian Kia Seltos scores 5-stars at ANCAP"? How is it any relevant to us in Indian market otherwise? Moderators Note: Feel free to remove the post if the query is irrelevant. |

| ![]() Key question: was the car tested of the same spec as sold in India, structure wise? Hyundai has had a history of using lower spec/Indianised platforms for their supposed international products when sold in India. Recent example is the Venue - Verna platform internationally, Santro platform in India. Unless and until the exact India spec Seltos is not crash tested, this 5 star rating has no relevance to Indian customers and the Indian car scene. |

But still there might be differences as we have seen in the past, even the Indian Endeavour had K-truss deletion.

| ![]() Pardon my ignorance, but why are we depending on crash test results from other countries? We have seen enough cases where manufacturers have made "changes" to their Indian cars. Unless we have cars made for India specifically tested, these results may mean very little. |

| ![]() Does anyone know what is the unladen weight of Kia Seltos in India, in the website it's not there. The Car tested in Australia has an unladen weight of 1355. And we are not sure about the metal quality are same what we have here and in Australia |

| ![]() Glad to read this news. But am I surprised? No. Considering that the Seltos is sold in all major markets like Australia, Korea and the US, a 5-star safety rating was almost given. Glad to see that we get such good products that focus on safety here in India. Yes, the Australian Seltos might be different from the Indian car and also comes with additional safety features which we dont get in India. But I am sure the Indian car will also do well in a safety test. |

| ![]() Okay to make things clear, the Seltos sold in Australia and New Zealand are made in Korea not India. It's also a bit longer than the one sold in India thereby giving it a more proportionate look. https://www.motoring.com.au/kia-selt...tralia-121152/ Last edited by TSIVTEC : 31st December 2019 at 11:53. |

Dont have the figures for the unladen weight. In the user manual, the gross weight is mentioned.

There have been too many instances of a particular car model being safe in a particular country and the same model being unsafe in India. We can’t assume safety. It has to be tried and tested. Unless of course you’re privy to some information that we’re not aware of.
