5th-gen Honda City gets 5-stars in ASEAN NCAP crash tests

The fifth-generation Honda City has received a 5-star rating in ASEAN NCAP crash tests. The car that was tested was a Thailand-spec.

For frontal, side impact protection and head protection, the car was awarded 13.98, 16 and 2.30 points respectively. The overall score for adult occupant protection was 32.28 points.

The car offered good protection to both adult occupants. It offered adequate protection to the lower legs of the front occupants. In side impact tests, the car offered good protection to the head and chest region of the occupant.

The test score for child occupant safety was 22.82 points. The car scored 16 points each for tests conducted with 18-month old and 3-year old child dummies.

! Congrats to Honda and I hope the Indian version also does equally well. It can and should be picked by the GNCAP for testing as it's among the most important sedans on sale in India.

The new City is supposedly going to get more safety kit, including ESP, TPMS, 4 airbags, 5 headrests and 3-point seat belts.
