Road Safety

Please, no.
We should not complicate things, which are already poorly understood and used, especially in India. If you are driving on a road and have not turned on any indicators, it is expected and the norm that you are going straight. And, traffic in other lanes can do whatever they want to.
This thread reminded me of a friend who, in my initial days of learning to drive suggested that: at a signal, if you are not taking any turn and planning to go straight, we need to turn on both the indicators (he meant hazard warning lights) so that people know. :Frustrati
Again, my humble request, please don't over complicate things!

. @Mods: Please close the thread with a note that TBHP doesn't encourage unsafe driving practices. |
I agree too
I read about this safety system. I however, think it should only be used in the extreme situation - when a truck is too slow & extremely large (or wide). Again, there should be convoys for large loads to safely manage the flow of traffic around the truck.

For normal cars and personal use, the statements from my other post apply.
If one is being tailgated/uncomfortable for whatever reason, it is easier to slow down, pull off the road, and let the impatient driver(s) overtake. Quote:

How about waiting patiently for a safe gap to overtake? Is that unfashionable in our society? |
