Not sure about vehicles in India, but in many countries this informationa do tire size is also displayed on a sticker on the drivers door frame.

Yes, that's right. Even in Honda City, it's mentioned on the door frame near the driver - higher pressure recommended for higher speed and higher passenger load. While in some other cars only load based tyre pressure is mentioned.

Lower the pressure, higher the flex of the sidewall at high rpm, leading to head build up internally in the side walls, apart from the road heat incase of concrete roads. So a higher pressure reduces the flex and reduces damage on side walls, even when sudden minor depression impact.

I do keep at, say 35 psi when doing a highway run, instead of regular 33 psi which is maintained for regular city commute. This is just what I follow and not to be considered as a standard recommendation. Please refer individual vehicle/tyre manufacturer recommendation.

Re: Samruddhi E-way - 100 days, 900 accidents and 31 deaths

Yet another car accident, rather a fire that engulfed the car claimed three lives on this expressway during the wee hours on 29/05. The car was travelling from Mehkar to Aurangabad. It entered the expressway at Jalna and was driven for 100 kms before the incident. The report says that the Swift Dzire was carrying many cans of diesel. It was towing one SUV that also had many diesel cans within. Total number of cans both four wheelers were carrying were 20. The car driver had lost control of the car after it hit an impact barrier on the roadside. Soon it caught fire. Two occupants were burnt alive within the car. The driver came out, was admitted to a hospital, but succumbed to his injuries. The towing rope snapped and the SUV got detached. It strayed 200 metres before halting. It's occupants fled. Police suspect the gang to be involved in diesel thefts from trucks on the highway.

The news report:-
Three Killed As Car Crashes, Catches Fire On Samruddhi | Nagpur News - Times of India https://m.timesofindia.com/city/nagp.../100608303.cms

Surely these three lost lives will be added to the statistics of deaths on this E-way. Also the accident gets added to the list. But for this particular accident the full blame goes to the gang members, who were purportedly on the wrong side of the law. It is likely that the diesel was just pilfered from parked trucks, whose drivers were resting for the night.

Re: Samruddhi E-way - 100 days, 900 accidents and 31 deaths

Yet another bus-truck collision on 12/07, wherein the Nagpur-Pune Khurana Travels bus' front portion hit the trailer truck loaded with iron bars, near Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad), injuring eighteen passengers, ten seriously. Again, the mishap happened during the dead of the night at 2.20 am when most passengers would have been asleep.

https://m.timesofindia.com/city/aura.../101690285.cms

The trailer truck was loaded with iron rods and entered EWay from Jalna going by the press report. The iron rods have pierced through front portion of the bus. Evidently, the rods could have been loaded beyond registered length of the truck. If so, was there no RTO/police check up/entry bar for the illegally overloaded truck at Jalna?

We need dedicated bus stops on highways for pickup and drop off of passengers, located on the service road or in a separate turnoff area.
Right now extremely hazardous conditions exist where buses, vans and taxis stop where they like, blocking lanes and disrupting the flow of traffic. N to mention the hazards created by passengers spilling over onto the road looking for their vehicle.
An example on NH48 on the outskirts of Pune. towards Mumbai.

Sorry does not help. I have seen busses stop just after a traffic junction on the salem-kochi high way when the bus stop is few meters away in the service lane. Even worse I have seen busses and our beloved elephants (our own KSRTC) take the services lane only to beat the red light and immediately merge into the high way and then stop on the highway to get passengers.

Re: Samruddhi E-way - 100 days, 900 accidents and 31 deaths

In yet another tragic minibus-truck collision, 12 people including a girl child died and 23 others were injured when their mini bus rammed into a truck. The accident occurred at between 12.30-1.00 am on Sunday night in Ahmednagar dist (Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar) when the Force Traveller hit a stationary truck that the bus driver (he survived) could just sight a few feet ahead before the crash. The left part of the bus was badly smashed as seen in the picture. The local police have booked the truck driver and two RTO officials, who the police believe stopped the truck causing the mishap. However, as usual issuing his denial, the acting RTO, Ahmednagar has said that these two booked RTO men had stopped another truck 300 feet ahead and not this truck.
