re: 2024 Maruti-Suzuki Dzire achieves 5-Star rating in the Global NCAP

Wohaa !

Who would have expected a Maruti to score 5 star in GNCAP ?

To be honest, I was expecting Brezza and Grand Vitara to score > 4 stars, but Maruti never published the results (even though the GV was tested by BNCAP ,as suggested by some spy pics some months ago).

But a budget Maruti, scoring 5 stars in GNCAP is just amazing.

re: 2024 Maruti-Suzuki Dzire achieves 5-Star rating in the Global NCAP

Wonderful. Stable bodyshell and footwell with a 5 star rating? In a Maruti Dzire?

The Punch sold so well, at least partially due to the 5 star rating despite the terrible engine. This might make a dent in the Punch's sales as it has a much better engine, Maruti service, much better FE etc.

For a no-nonsense car, the Dzire has just become the default choice.
AMT is still a bummer though.

Just goes on to show that if determined, MS is no short of pulling these tricks from its sleeves. No rocket science that they don't know. And when the market leader awakens, it is always a strong punch in the jaws of enemy. Just like when it launched MPFi versions of all cars back in Y2K.

This car is so much sorted at all levels. If Honda doesn't put a decent Amaze facelift against this Dzire, MS might just have a perfect runaway road to unprecedented success with this car.

This is just brilliant. Maruti has achieved 5 stars in a car weighing around 900 kgs.

Amazing Feat by Maruti Suzuki. Hoping for the same results from swift and Baleno too. Thank you for taking the criticism and to work on it.

Not surprised as GNCAP's secgen Alejandro Furas had already hinted at this twice this year:

Let's see if they keep the six airbags in Latin America.
Great news for India's fleets and for Maruti of course. Honda had better buck up and start volunteering testing.

Not to be pessimistic about such great news, but looks like the test was initiated by Maruti after GNCAP withheld publication of the previous generation which was tested last year along with the Amaze. GNCAP says Maruti is stopping production of the old generation by year end.

However, an Autocar report from today morning says that it will continue as Tour S for a few years. Wonder what's up with that.

Make no mistake, it is worse than the 1-star Ertiga and gets 2 only because its side impact is also so bad it does not get penalised for the difference. Not that it is very relevant after today's release.

re: 2024 Maruti-Suzuki Dzire achieves 5-Star rating in the Global NCAP

*Rubbing eyes in disbelief*, checks calendar to see whether it is 1st April....and WOW . The giant has woken up from its slumber.

Thank you Maruti! When you sell the most popular sedan of India - and 40% of all cars in India - your actions have massive implications for all stakeholders of the Indian auto industry. Most important being the customer.

For a budget sedan to get 5-stars in the GNCAP, just wow. Take a bow, dudes. You have earned a lot of respect today. God bless competition, social media, customer awareness, bad press & changing buyer priorities for the magic to finally happen.

What a milestone for Maruti! The Dzire will go down in history as the first ever Mauri Suzuki car to score a full 5-stars in the crash tests, and that too with a stable body shell!. Although we don't know for sure if it's the first, as other Marutis have been tested with their results not out yet. I'm glad they sent the car over to GNCAP, and not BNCAP. Definitely a step in the right direction, and hoping to see more products with good ratings!

Take a bow. Way to go, guys!

Re: 2024 Maruti-Suzuki Dzire achieves 5-Star rating in the Global NCAP

Good to see Maruti wake up and smell the coffee instead of coming up with lousy statements like we meet the requirements for selling the product in the country. Honestly I wasn't expecting anything more than 3 star at best for the Dzire.

Also note that this is from GNCAP. What BNCAP is doing, they know best. The last I remember from Maruti, the Grand Vitara scored 5 stars. The new Brezza hasn't been tested yet but is expected to come with either 4 or 5 stars.

EDIT: Also note the projector headlamp on the lower variant !

I have already posted on this unbelievable feet by Maruti, but just missed a point. Time for buying Maruti stocks. Because it is going to go up and up. The new king has arrived, and I am sure Swift will also go bonkers because both Dzire and Swift are essentially the same.

Re: 2024 Maruti-Suzuki Dzire achieves 5-Star rating in the Global NCAP

Kudos to Maruti Suzuki. I hope the new gen Amaze also scores similarly.

On a side note, can we now conclude that BNCAP is a useless organisation just made to improvise make in India in every sector possible? I mean no offence there was absolutely no need for BNCAP in the first place. I don't see why BNCAP should continue to exist when all they can do is test Tata cars.

Re: 2024 Maruti-Suzuki Dzire achieves 5-Star rating in the Global NCAP

Woah!!! Finally Maruti proved the ‘heart-attack’ platform can churn out structurally stable cars as well.

Hope Fronx and baleno follow suit. God bless Tata & Mahindra for pushing our market’s leviathan out of its slumber.

I am particularly pleased to see its not just the 5* but has a stable bodyshell rating as well.
