Re: Bad Drivers - How do you spot 'em

That has to be the most astounding piece of stupidity I've ever had the pleasure of witnessing

No doubt the driver is extremely skilled to drive like that but obviously lacking in any commonsense at all. Imagine- one false move and people ARE going to die. I had my heart in my mouth when he almost collided with the bus and came close to knocking down a couple of hapless pedestrians.

Let him practice his stunt in jail. I wish this can be brought to the attention of the local police. His number plate is partially visible (last four digits 9150)

Why would anybody do that?

Why would anybody film it?

Re: Bad Drivers - How do you spot 'em

Now that sort of driving should render the bull-bar pointless. Unless he's trying to park, in which case, he will have to engage reverse. Oops, sorry. 1st gear.

Bullbars are always pointless, except to drivers that want to kill people.

Not bad driving, but bad road and civic sense none the less. I saw the car parked for over 10 minutes.

Re: Bad Drivers - How do you spot 'em

I hate and dont even go near those who drive with their side mirrors CLOSED!!!

When you have the options why not use them, otherwise dont buy the vehicle with those options and try to save some money by customising it...

The conversation is in Tamil so I didn't really follow it but from the general tone and handshakes exchanged seems the bikers were fanboys hence they were shooting.
I suppose it's cheap thrills to do something like that. Haven't you watched the train stunt videos in Mumbai locals?

I admire the sentiment but no cop in India will ever book someone doing this. At the most they will get a reprimand and a slap or two then they're back on the street to practice their stupidity again. You could try posting it on CHennai traffic police Facebook page though- if they have one.

Drivers not Owners.

I feel more cars on Indian road are driven by paid second party or drivers, who dont care about either the car or anything on the road. Their one and only priority is to reach point A to B at the fastest possible time come whatever.

And when car owners act like a paid drivers with no respect for the car or others in the road they also end up in the catogory of bad driver badge.

And the biggest and commonest problem is people driving too fast in highways or fast even in slow moving conjested city roads.

IMO, these are better than drivers with open RVMs but don't use them!! Atleast it gives us a warning beforehand.
Today I was cut across sharply by a WagonR on BETL at 70 kmph - but his ORVMs were open!!!

Most possible. I've been spottiing a PY registered MERC SUV 350 in Koramangala being driven like an autorikshaw. Am sure it was a paid driver driving it. Will try for some PICs next time.

Re: Bad Drivers - How do you spot 'em

another thing i've noticed over the years is that people don't use the indicators. i mean, you get it for free with your vehicle, why can't one just use it! there is a limit to laziness!

oh, there is another breed of drivers who put the indicators when they're at the turn, resulting in the person behind having to do panic braking!

Will only serve to increase your BP and spoil the rest of your day if you try to knock sense into such drivers. And to stop a maniac doing 70kmph and cutting across traffic, you have drive faster and become a bad driver. Not worth it IMHO.

Re: Bad Drivers - How do you spot 'em

I would term the worst drivers and use the most obscene and dirty words at those who shout at me / abuse me for stopping at a red light or following traffic rules. There are plenty of examples in Chennai.
