Sorry if my post offends anyone owning these cars but why is it that almost all the Maruti Swift and Dzire guys drive as if their back is on fire or they will get some multi million reward if they go fast. The case goes even bad if these guys are driving the diesel version, they cut lanes, keep zigzagging and what not. Just zero respect for other road users. |

Adding Alto drivers to the list. Most of the Alto drivers are maniacs and drive as if there is no tomorrow! :Frustrati

+1.
No offence meant to anybody, but I've noticed many Alto drivers driving rashly. Most of them drive with their ORVM closed & some simply do not have it. Maybe they must buy it as an accessory from Maruti :-P
That being said, I spotted a well maintained white Honda Civic yesterday, being driven rashly with its ORVMs closed!!

Now there!! Alto is a very cute car, and we all love our little Altos so much..!!
Only those with an utter disregard to their ride will drive it so rashly and abuse it so much.. :Frustrati
On Friday evening while coming back from office, noticed a white Tata Indica being driven like a F1. The driver (who I saw was in vests) cut me twice once on the turning towards EE highway and once on the EE highway near the Mulund toll. I caught him up at the Toll and found that Indica carried a signage at the rear asking information incase of rash driving. I noted the number and upon reaching home, dialled the number to complain agains the rash driving. To my utter surprise the person at the other end (probably the owner) released the choicest expletives and warned me not to complain again. When the owner himself backs his untrained driver, what can you expect from the driver?
It’s not about Alto or any specific brand of cars. What I noticed on our highways is, those vehicles which are not supposed (or equipped) to go fast are the ones which are driven in insane speeds, with no respect to speed limits or fellow road users. For e.g.; buses, trucks, school vans, taxis (Logan/Verito, Indica etc.), and host of small cars. Infact, I am happy that reasonably powerful cars (100bhp+) does not come cheap in our country. If these guys can drive an entry level small car in such irresponsible speeds, they can create havoc with a slightly more powerful machine.
Does dying on an auspicious day (such as today) guarantee you heaven, or killing someone else absolves you of murder? I saw these violations today, while driving to office:
1. a man riding on an Activa with his small kid between his legs was checking his cell phone with his left hand
2. a man was trying teach his son how to drive his Innova, by making him sit on his lap
3. 4 guys happily riding a motorbike, and the rider talking on the phone
4. a man riding his Splendour with a wide metal pipe tied on the rear carrier, ACROSS the bike. The bike was swaying due to the weight of the pipe
5. Two KSRTC buses racing.
I drive on this route to office every day, and haven't spotted so many violations in one trip ever before! It could be that the people felt free, because the roads are pretty much empty.

I am surprised that you are surprised! I say put up the number here and some of us can call him and teach a few new words to add to his vocabulary.
A lot of these stickers are erally just a decorative piece. Nothing really works as it should, these cabbies just seem to be uncouth and insensitive people.
Got a scratch on my car due to a wannabe racer boy. Happened at the signal while crossing Richmond road to enter Mother Teresa Road. About 6 vehicles were at the signal in 2 lanes , being a one way street. And I was behind an Omni on the right hand side of the road with another car behind me.
This guy in Alto comes through the footpath, and stops the vehicle in an angle blocking me, (he cant go further as there is a small platform like structure ahead of him) . I was irked with his action -and I could have blocked him - but then didnt want to indulge into a road rage - so when the signal turned green I let him go .
However this guy tried to move ahead of the Omni only to find himself heading straight to the median and braked hard. I had almost gone past him , when he cut back into the lane and hit my rear bumber from the side. We both stopped and I told him to just calm down and drive safe. After all I had a scratch on my bumper , while he had a deep dent on his fender. For a Change , the guy apologized and accepted his mistake. (illustration attached for better understanding)

Interesting point. Just read a post on a car forum on FB where a person stated that he did 100kmph on his nano :deadhorse
And as for associating cars and rash driving well maybe because those cars are popular and hence more chances of bad drivers driving them?
Me? I hate the innovas and ambys with 4 horns [VIP cars] blaring away to glory on two lane roads. If the GOI were so hell bent on reaching destinations faster maybe they could build better roads out here instead of raising a ruckus.
Speaking of VIP cars and their erratic drives. The pilot vehicle of one our erstwhile ministers here killed a pedestrian yesterday on MC road.
:(
OT: Every-time i see these guys being escorted and piloted and what not, i think of an old malayalam movie where the hero a small time debut politician becomes home minister and one of the first things he does is to do away with escorts and pilot vehicles.
Goes to the point where he stops a minister who does not listen to him and makes a comment that in Kerala there has never been an incident of a minister being attacked [even though some of them deserve it] so why do you need so much police around you?

I am inspired by this video to put up a dashboard cam. I am sure a Bangalore traffic video would be more funnier with the buses, trucks "super"bikers and three-wheeled circus vehicles lol: |
alrighty! your wish is granted :D

Hilarious video!! lol:
I observed one positive thing though. There were no two wheelers on the footpaths!!
And the bus driver scolding the two wheeler for blocking his path was also funny.
This thread should be renamed to "Bad Drivers -
IronH4WK Spots 'em"

Yeah.. My dream come true video.
Love the way the bikers escort cars , and then merging infront of you from both sides ! I feel like the President of India at times :uncontrol
And adding to that fun, morons risking their and others life by zooming through the wrong lane !!! :deadhorse
BTW, just saw on our spotting thread, that you drive 60 kms per day. must say you are lucky to spot so many BHPians. I drive 50kms per day and struggle to find BHPians. Again I do so at the non-peak hours !

Actually, there were a couple, but since the phone was fixed in the right (2nd video onwards) you don't see them :D
Bad drivers galore.
Spotted three bad riders today within my 30 minutes drive to office in the morning..
First one is this lady who was frantically trying to overtake the Innova. The Innova moved suddenly to the extreme left to escape from an Ace overtaking a vehicle and coming in the opposite direction. This lady who was not aware of this tried to overtake the Innova and luckily for her, escaped from hitting the Ace appearing in front of her suddenly by the proverbial whisker. For her the Ace was totally blinded by the big Innova.

Then these bikers with the pillion carrying some metallic poles: a very very dangerous act indeed.

Then the third lot, two women in a Scooty and both were inexperienced (inexperienced in riding and inexperienced in sitting pillion) wavered and fell down from very slow speed and then both of them got up and lifted the still idling Scooty holding the handle bar and voila the Scooty surged forward because of the accidental acceleration and hit a tree and fell down still with a running engine. Luckily both the women and the ride were unhurt.
No clicks for this one.
