I am only guessing this pic is from GJ roads not because of your location but simply because I have seem so many such morons whenever I have driven to Rajkot; And no, not the pillion but the rider himself sitting one side, controlling only with the gears and front brake lever.

An experience of 3 days of driving in Pune introduced me to this kind of two wheeler users. These would want to go to the other side of the road through a gap in the median. When your car is in the rightmost lane, these would overtake you from the left( entirely through the blind spot) and would pop out suddenly in your view to cross the road through the median. Once, a gentleman even had the courtesy to thump the hood to undertake this maneuver.

My relative recalls an incident in which she was waiting in the leftmost lane to take the left turn on a signal and a woman riding a scooter stood even left. As the signal turned green, the woman on scooter wanted to go right but my relative assumed she would turn left.

A minor incident followed.

This woman argued with my relative that they should become traffic cops if traffic rules are so dear to one! Later she called up her husband and asked for a compensation of Rs15,000 for a broken mirror.

Re: Bad Drivers - How do you spot 'em

This evening, on of those bikers who likes to overtake on the inside at a turn found he didn't have quite enough room. There was a wobble, and he succeeded in not hitting anything or falling off.

He gave me a wave, which is good manners for an errant biker: they normally don't even bother to look.

I think the situation is even more gross where my hometown is (Manmad, Nasik district, Maharashtra) people carry two or even three goats or sheep on their motorcycles on a daily basis.

Actually, this is not as bad as carrying large boxes, or, even worse, large sheet materials on bikes. With the sheets of wood, etc, one puff of wind could spell disaster for bike people, and/or others around them.

Why is it that bikes seem to turn off people's thinking ability?

Re: Bad Drivers - How do you spot 'em

I was nudged from rear at a signal because I refused to move forward at a red signal by a bike honking incessantly. Apparently he wanted me to jump the signal and follow me by honking. When I did not pay heed, he decided to nudge my car from behind. When I confronted him as to what is his problem, he smiles sheepishly and says that he was honking but I did not listen to him.

Why are these guys still around?

Outright dangerous. And I cannot believe that no law/ authority stopped it while doing so in our National Capital?

Will the tow hook not break or worse, topple the tow truck?

I know that the weight of the army trucks is being borne by its wheels but there must still be a significant part of that weight being exerted on the tow truck.

I am wondering how the tow truck is able to pull so much load. What will happen at the turn ? Also the amount of damage it will do to these trucks by being carried in this way.

Try this out. When someone honks at you when you are stopping at a signal, just slot into reverse gear and keep the clutch depressed.

The expression on their face seeing the reverse light on would be priceless

Looks like you took the quoted part of my post too seriously!

BTW, I have tried one such thing with a guy acting too smart in a filling station. I was actually getting a tankful done and from nowhere this moron on a scooter comes and parks right in front of me, disregarding the queue. When I was done with filling, I gave a short honk for him to make some way so that I can move out. But this guy with arrogance did not pay any heed and pretended to be indifferent. Almost gave me a stare to scare me off! Then I pulled one small prank on him. Kept the car in neutral and revved the engine a little and tried to get closer to the steering wheel and look over the bonnet to pretend I am a learner! I revved the engine slightly, keeping the car in neutral and then this guy ran out of way to save his dear life, thinking that I will just release the clutch abruptly like a learner and run over him!
Once, he moved, I drove off normally. Guess that served him right. Plus the embarrassment in front of so many people.
