I couldn’t tolerate more than 2:37 mins of this video. Such a bad driver.

If we ask for a simple longer and mixed test drive on highways and streets instead of service roads and narrow streets, dealers talk about how they have a timed fixed route and everything but hand over the car to these people without any question.

The cringe worthy parts are after 9:00 mark.

First half he drove at very high speeds, towards the end he drove it over bad patches and shoulders at speeds.

He might have told them he is a youtuber and that it might help them sell more units of Magnite.

I saw him honk unnecessarily and realised he was a bad driver and then I began noticing him flashing lights at everything that was coming his way including situations where he had no right of way. Enough to certify this man as a worst driver!

Re: Bad Drivers - How do you spot 'em

A few years ago I was in an unfortunate accident where the two cars ahead of mine braked suddenly. I couldn’t brake in time even though we were at 40km/h and my car banged the one in front while a taxi rammed my car from behind.

My big learning from this incident is that it’s always wise to keep a safe distance between the car ahead of me. I’m psychologically a bit scarred to this day by that incident — I get nervous when any vehicle is tailgating me and immediately find a way to either safely pull away or move aside to let them pass. Similarly I get very annoyed when other vehicles jump into the 5-10 metres of space I leave in between me and the vehicle ahead of me. That space is to allow me to brake effectively, and not a free overtake.

Is that “bad driving” or am I just getting annoyed unnecessarily?

That was so horrendous.

I find it amusing that such test drive reviews will also find patrons and takers. The Magnite was simply abused to no end.

He probably ranks first amongst the worst drivers.

Absolutely the right thing to do!. You leave enough space from the vehicle in front always anticipating him slowing down/stopping. That space is directly proportional to the speedo reading. But yes, if you do not balance that space versus speed, then you run the risk of leaving a tempting gap for anyone.

I gave up within 20 seconds. His steering "style" is completely wrong and unsafe.

By the way, when I bought my first VW Polo new, they gave me a free hand with the route. It covered just about everything urban Chennai can offer, including some really bad semi-industrial roads not far from my house. But I did not punish the car in any way.

Re: Bad Drivers - How do you spot 'em

Looks like somebody is in a mood for revenge. I don't know why he turned towards the car. The auto diver had some second though, otherwise it would have been a sure shot accident.

A bad pedestrian

Inspite of me honking and letting him know my presence, he decides to jump into the road

Re: Bad Drivers - How do you spot 'em

Captured 3 of the videos below in the past 1 week.

1. Watch near 50 second mark. I felt the speed should have been slower for the bike coming from the left side but this was not the case. He has hit the other bike.

2. The guy on the moped was on mobile while riding. Hope he has learnt the lesson.

3. Two cars overtook me - one from left and the other from right turning into a right side lane. They were constantly trying to make space but thankfully nothing serious happened. One more bad part was the driver of the van in front of me was on mobile - I could see that in his right side rear view mirror.

Re: Bad Drivers - How do you spot 'em

1. The black figo tries a stupid move and scrapes the i10.

2. The Honda City was trying to block me for few kms and when I tried to get past him, he tries to block. ABS kicked in and I was able to avoid hitting him. My overtake move wasn't right either, I agree .

Oops.

Seems you had a bit of a different rush when the Honda city went past you to your left.

Ah, the "i have the indicator on which will make cars behind me/beside me vanish into thin air" person. Poor i10. He/She was just ambling along on the left lane...

What happened next? Seems both of you decided to stop and understand the physics of things!
