Another interesting observation I have seen is Etios, so far every Etios I came across in the road are driven rashly. I don't know what is the connection here.

I have seen a yellow one on the NH-47. The imbecile that I encountered, was doing speeds above 85kmph, and touching 90kmph often, weaving through the CV traffic, needless to say, very dangerously. The style of driving reminded me of the rick drivers seen in Chennai and Bangalore - poking his nose into every inch gap between vehicles. I think it was purely luck that saved the jerk.

Not to generalize but i have seen quite a number of Nanos being driven rashly. I wish people would drive their cars according its capacity. The Nano is little more than a covered up rickshaw and if they go and bang something or overturn due to the speeds they get it up to, well i dont have to say what is going to happen to them!

On the M.C road from Adoor to Trivandrum, a crazy Nano with ribbons and everything intact started flashing me on my swift and while i usually like to leave people who do that in the dust i let this idiot pass. go crash into someone else and leave me alone!

naveen raju, Your post reminded me of some autocar review review of Nano which says the below:

On the highway, the Nano’s straight-line stability is terrific and that’s sure to give first-time drivers a lot of confidence. The steering is well weighted and quite responsive, except for some excessive play around the straight-ahead position. You can drive the car with only your fingertips at speed and the car never feels loose or flighty.

After all it is a rear engine, rear wheel drive car. Fun to Drive- sure it will be

Even on Delhi roads, Nanos seem to be the fastest vehicles around or maybe Nano stands out and hence we notice. Not sure if its a generalization buy my guess is that Nano guys want to prove a point

A general observation on this thread
When i first came across this thread i thought this will be a good database on how to spot bad drivers on the road. Somehow the information is getting lost in the daily rants that we have. Maybe a seperate rant thread would be nice and this thread specifically for doling out the advice.

I agree fully - that is the reason I landed on this thread too. My idea was to somehow spot a bad driver and then stay away from him - bad things happen around bad drivers.

How do you spot a bad driver? Driving too fast for the road/traffic/weather conditions.

I spotted a white Ford Fiesta S, on Madiwala Market road this afternoon 1:30pm or so. I was doing 60kmph on a relatively empty stretch of 4-lane divided road. Few cars/bikes/buses on the road but there were a fair number of pedestrians, cyclists, etc.

This man was driving like his tail was on fire. I saw him in my rear view mirror closing real fast so gave him way. I guess he was doing around 100kmph.

Not a safe speed, given the conditions. If you want the thrill of high speeds, go out onto a highway!

This car was KA 53 registered. Sported LTD on rear bumper and URL sticker on rear number plate. Could not catch the rest of the number, he was driving way too fast.

Confession!

I parked my car right outside a building on Richmond road, well I assumed it was going to be a 2 min job and also there was enough place for 3 pedestrians to hold hands'n walk! Unfortunately it took longer than expected, my friend got back to the car with the keys just in case it had to be moved. I returned after about 45mins, and just as I opened the door, a cop came and did his job rightfully. Paid a fine of Rs.100 on the spot. Sigh...My mistake, and I apologize!

Apart from following rules, I in fact totally avoid certain U turns (Even if they're allowed) if they could potentially create a jam behind me or on the other side of the road. Usually I park the car about a good 10min walk from this place, but today ..was just not the same.

My car sports T-bhp stickers, I thought I owed an apology to the good folks who care about traffic rules and general road sense from here.

Last week I saw a Nano driven like hell tailing an Ambulance between Quilon and Trivandrum. He was driving it bumper on bumper at around 100Kmph.
What happens if the Ambulance braked is everybody's guess. Perhaps, they may be accompanying the Ambulance, but is a sure way to get into it too.


Saw these two cars, a WagonR and an Indigo blocking the free left at Congress house junction in MG Road, Kochi. Bad Drivers, they are dime a dozen out here. Take a look.

This joker was one among several I encountered on my monsoon drive to Lavasa who had hazards on just because it was raining and foggy. I wanted to pull him over and yell at him, THAT'S WHAT YOUR FOGLAMPS ARE FOR .

First pic shows hos foggy it was, second one captures his annoying flashing hazards.



Please avoid this practice guys- its very common on the Mum-Pune e'way as well. Especially in rainy/foggy conditions, it really distracts the driver behind you.
