The fellow wanted to turn right, he'd cut diagonally across the road in the approved desi fashion so he'd turn right from the wrong side of the road. And after I yelled at him he suddenly changed his mind and went straight.

5 people crammed into that auto including one guy sharing the driver seat. If I had rammed that auto it'd be disastrous.

Re: Bad Drivers - How do you spot 'em

It makes me wonder why people would want to pass from rear of a car that is reversing. The safer way would be to pass the car from the front since the vehicle is moving backwards. I see this happen without fail every time I reverse. Further, people want to pass you from the left when you are parallel parking. Little do they realise the dangers. They could well wait for a little while or pass on the right, if there is room. What makes it even worse is, when one is moving forward after reversing, people want to pass you from the front!!!

Bad rider or a good handler.

This happened a couple of hours back. He continued riding at the same pace even after this.

Re: Bad Drivers - How do you spot 'em

In the afternoon was in the balcony as usual there was jam but the unusual thing was that this guy overtook 3 or 4 cars I don't know to do what but got stuck in the middle of his process and he was sitting at that spot for a cool 5 minutes obstructing a biker and even when the bus came in front he was not ready to back up but with no other solution left he had to.

Re: Bad Drivers - How do you spot 'em

Started the day by being a very bad driver!

The exit in my Flat is out of a steep slope which directly exits onto the main road which is on a gentle curve. There is construction going on at the plot next door and a truck was being unloaded whilst being parked right next to my exit.

So the lane was blind for me. The security guard of that construction site was standing next to the parked truck and he looked at the oncoming traffic and said it was clear and indicated for me to carry on. I turned to the left, joining the lane and a poor auto guy had to swerve to avoid banging on to me.

I said sorry and said a prayer silently and cursed myself for having relied on others when i should have checked for traffic myself. Not gonna happen again.

Re: Bad Drivers - How do you spot 'em

There are three Railway crossing on the way to my office. The most irritating drivers/ riders are those, who don't keep their vehicle in designated lane and rush ahead in the wrong lane all the way to the railway crossing barrier. Due to this kind of drivers/riders, railway crossings in India are always chaos.

Re: Bad Drivers - How do you spot 'em

* First one cabbie decides to do a three point turn and go the wrong way. Since it would consume another 50 liters of diesel to go 100mts ahead and take the left that leads to the same road. I was really hoping for a vehicle to come and block his path.

* Second one is a U-turn near ITC grand chola. 50 mts before the turn it becomes 3 lanes and I moved to the middle lane. I see an i20 blocking that lane to take the U-turn, I turn on my left indicator and see that no one is there and move slightly when I notice the Tavera having a sudden change of mind and coming in (this part of the road becomes one way and you can choose to go left or right with the metro rail pillars inbetween). I slow down for him and this joker on the Activa decides he wants to make a U-turn and just cuts across all lanes barely missing my front left corner and also because I hit the brake immediately. Needs to be !!

Re: Bad Drivers - How do you spot 'em

Another candidate for Bad Driver. At least Parking skills are not good.
While coming out of the car, the driver would have definitely seen that the car is parked over the cone. Unless its a Left Hand drive Vehicle (which is not the case)

What is he trying to prove by driving in reverse? A serious potential hazard on road. Imagine the confusion for the oncoming traffic.

Kudos to his driving skills. HOWEVER : If not bad, he is definitely irresponsible:

Does anyone sees the tint on his glasses, beyond permissible limits?

No seat belts ..

Driving on the Wrong Side - Close Call on Elphinstone Flyover, Mumbai

When will people learn the reason for road markings.

Double unbroken (continuous) lines - you cannot overtake across these lines.

I had a close call when an insane driver decided to overtake a bus by crossing the Double Yellow Line on Elphinston Flyover, at the beginning of a blind turn! I was inches away from a collision but by sheer luck the left lane was empty and i cut into it.

View in HD.

re: Driving on the Wrong Side - Close Call on Elphinstone Flyover, Mumbai

The details you've put up are registered to a White Swift VDI, not a Nissan Micra.

Anyways, the nonchalant attitude with which this driver was driving (didn't slow down at all), I'm sure a collision with someone is inevitable.

That would be the greatest learning experience for this DODO.
