Is that Velachery-Medavakkam-Tambaram road? If yes, am not surprised.

I've seen some of the dramatic driving/riding on this road. You'll get bits and pieces elsewhere, but get that full meals experience here.

It's not their fault. It makes economic sense only when there are 4 of them sharing the petrol cost.

Red Nano hitting the right turn apex and almost the parked Ciaz.
This is near the New English School on Tilak Road. One of the most dangerous place to drive with 2 wheelers crossing without checking.

Close, but this is actually at the first signal on 100 ft road (think that is what it is called) just after you get down from the Velachery flyover (while coming from Taramani).

Haha... I wish there had been at least one brain that they had shared across 4 craniums.

They wouldn't be seen odd in that area especially but for their antics at this signal. That stretch is the arterial road for one of the most densely populated residential areas and at peak hours, it is a nightmare with vehicles turning in to and out of the small roads without respecting the traffic signals.

Re: Bad Drivers - How do you spot 'em

(Nearly) Ran into this bad driver along the Ooty-Kotagiri road last week. There were a couple of slow moving vehicles in front of me and I was waiting for a safe chance to overtake. This idiot blindly overtakes on a curve and then proceeds to force me off the road to squeeze in when faced with oncoming traffic.

This one deserves a prize! Looks like the oncoming SUV actually did have to leave the road for him. If the mini bus had suddenly braked, that would have been a three-car accident in a flash.

Near miss on the highway, no indicator or looking at left ORVM before changing lane.

Now chastened, sticking to lane and indicating.

A couple was fined 50K for driving on the sand dunes at Nubra Valley.

More details here: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-61741815

Kudos to the authorities for clamping down on them and setting an example.

Re: Bad Drivers - How do you spot 'em

I do not need to spot bad drivers.. They come like bee to nectar on seeing a small gap between me and the car in front.
Two videos combined in one.
The i20 literally sandwitched me against the divider and the Jeep compass driver didn't know how to drive or was trying to impress someone sitting in his 'new' car.

If you are not planning to overtake that slow moving Hyundai Eon, you should be driving on the left lane, not slowly on the right lane when left lane is empty.

Yes, you are right, on a service lane with 20 km per hour speed limit and speed breaker sign ahead, I should have been driving left. To let a reckless driver overtake at 60 km/hr?

Technically correct. But in practical terms, not necessarily. And it does not excuse the actions of the other drivers, which are ignorant/aggressive/dangerous.

Re: Bad Drivers - How do you spot 'em

A typical example of bad and dangerous driving

Bad Drivers - How do you spot 'em-image-1.jpg

Alto car without left side ovrm completes overtaking of a slow-moving SUV on a 2-lane road. One can see the rear of alto car clearly from the dash camera of SUV

Bad Drivers - How do you spot 'em-image-2.jpg

Alto car slows down as an oncoming vehicle approaches. The slow moving SUV driver accelerates hard and try to squeeze through the left side on a 2 lane road for no reason.

Bad Drivers - How do you spot 'em-image-4.jpg

SUV driver puts the lives of passengers of Alto car, his own car and S cross at risk while trying to overtake through left on a 2 lane road.

On the contrary, the SUV driver has been patiently following the slow-moving tempo for a while (the length of the video) on a two-lane road without a divider and constant incoming traffic, while waiting for a gap in incoming traffic. The Alto has aggressively overtaken via the incoming lane and then tries to swerve back into the lane of the SUV without any indicator or any sort.

It's the Alto car that is putting everyone at risk here. This is a common problem seen on such divider-less roads, with several 'F1' drivers trying to jump a long line of cars that are stuck behind a slow moving vehicle.
