Thanks for asking.I am currently looking for used cars which are little big in nature like Ford Ikon/Accent.I am not perticular about the company but it should suit my budget as the bank account is shortage of vitamin M.

Sad to see the accident pictures.
It is good that none of the occupants had any major injuries.
Hope you recovered from the injury.
Matiz is very good car in terms of passenger safety.

Just came across this thread and this is shocking.

The culprit should be thrashed !!!

Thanks to God nothing serious happened to you or your family.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. Glad your son has no lasting injuries. I hope he has no mental trauma post the accident as well.

Take care. Fight it out and teach that lorry guy a lesson.

Thanks salbin and aditya for the wishes.Currently everything is on track now.But the police guys are taking too much time to give the doctor certificate to proceed with the court case

Even my car had gone below the lorry in the same fashion as this lancer http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/indian...ml#post1731829. But my car came out after hitting the tyre of the lorry.

real glad again Shishir, after going through that Lancer post and then again your this post, I can realise how close that was ! That your car didnt get stuck and went back, plus also you managed to avoid people on the copassenger seat taking a hit and took youself, also the fact that your car went inside the truck but gladly came out quicky after a thrash.

Real glad to have you back. Sad to see the police delaying the next steps for court case.

Thanks Tanwar. Just today I got the information that the medical certificate is ready and It will take another 2 days for them to give it to me for the proceeding in the court. Ya man when I saw the lancer I just realized once again how lucky I was and how my car came out from the lorry bottom.

@Star, injuries have gone now. Next week doc will remove the cast from my fractured hand. Family didn't had any trauma and that was my plus point till now. Everyone are doing fine. Thanks for asking. It was a defining moment and some how I feel we have learnt a hard lesson

After going thru your thread, my accident looks puny. Going under the lorry and coming back up is straight out of a movie for me.

Hope all of you recover soon from this incident. If you are looking for a sedan, then maybe Maruthi Baleno (3.5-4L) or Accent (2.5-3.5L) is a better choice for service & reliability.

Ford Ikon parts are very expensive compared to both the cars mentioned.

You are absolutely right Inder. I am also looking for Accent itself rather than Ford. Even for me it was movie but ended in 1 sec.

Shishir, how about a small car with airbags & ABS? Like an used Swift ZXi?

I think an airbag equipped small car would be safer than a non-airbag equipped car with a comparitively long bonnet.

You are right in terms of safety but the fact that small car going under big vehicles has taken/imbibed in to the brain. So until we come out of this rather my family comes out of this, big cars are better atleast they will not allow the big vehicles to run on us as in small cars
