| ![]() A massive fire erupted yesterday afternoon in an open barren land adjacent to the street parking lot here in Jasola, New Delhi. The belief is that the fire started because someone threw a lit cigarette in the bushes. It took more than three hours for five fire brigades along with the fire management systems of office complexes like DLF, UPPAL's and Bani to control the fire. The fire soon spread to the nearby street parking lot and engulfed many cars. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by Rudra Sen : 17th January 2017 at 14:23. | ![]() It might seem like a funny conspiracy theory, but believe me, it's not that far off from the truth as well. ![]() Also, I believe it's common knowledge, & it's somewhere on the forum as well as a fact, that there were common practices to place a competitor car near the showroom of the car with a visual appearance that's is has had a breakdown. Most of the times it was dealers doing so, but you never know where the idea comes from. |

| ![]() I don't know why the ground is not wet, since fire fighter spread water for so many hours here. It would have been flush with water. But it all seems dry and clear. |

Distinguished - BHPian ![]() ![]() | ![]() Got these pics as a whatsapp forward. Probably this happened in Bannerghatta road, Bangalore. According to my friend, this was a case of radiator overheat, and the driver had got down with the hood open, to get some water. The car meanwhile burst in flames. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Regards, Shashi |

Any specific reasons for the fire in the car? And pray the driver should get well soon. Edit: Just now noticed that both the posts have been by you - and both in Kochi? Aware of any findings from the Maruti Suzuki team who assessed the earlier fire in the Baleno? Last edited by jpcoolguy : 29th November 2016 at 21:52. | |

| ![]() Spotted this on the highway. - No human injuries reported (per the update at spot) - Not sure of the cause but quite interesting that there were lots of sparks coming from the truck's cabin, reminding of how it happens while using sparklers during diwali. - More and more onlookers gathering and trying to be close to the truck - Fire is not an easy thing to handle but people tend to go close ! - No fire extinguishers nearby. Thinking aloud: Would it make sense to implement water sprinklers throughout highways and basic training given to people so that they can spray water/foam to reduce the damage in such situations ? I know this might be too wishful thinking but an idea to explore. ![]() |
