Caught On Camera: 1-Crore Mercedes Crashes Near Delhi, Catches Fire

Quote:
A man and his friend had to jump out of a burning Mercedes CLA after it crashed close to the F1 racing track in Greater Noida near Delhi. The occupants say they are safe.

As an animal came in front, the car lost control and rammed the divider... he had bought the car for a crore just 10 days ago.

How can a Merc which should not have any add-ons involving wire cuts catch fire? Maybe it's rats that have chewed up wires?

Re: Pics: Accidents in India

A brand new Royal Enfield ( read somewhere that its a classic 350 ) caught fire. Apparently the owner had bought the bike and rode it around 400km to a temple to do the Puja.

Wonder what could have caused it. long ( probably fast too? ) run of a brand new engine in hot weather resulting in overheating?

Riding it fast should not turn it into a fireball. Ever. No homologated production motorcycle can catch fire because of a hot engine. People ride Ducaties all the time even in Delhi summers. They get so hot, that even the metal grab rails become its heat sink.

I'm guessing it could be because of some agarbatti or a fuel leak. Petrol is a dangerous fuel. Its fumes can catch fire easily. This looks like the tank almost exploded. As if a tank full of petrol was sitting on flames.

Re: Accidents : Vehicles catching Fire in India

Another Bengaluru bus up in flames! (The New Indian Express report)

Excerpts:
Quote:
This is the third incident involving the BS4 midi BMTC buses since the last three months.

The driver, who was reportedly the first to see the smoke inside the engine bonnet, alerted the conductor and the passengers and all of them hurriedly alighted the bus.

"There is a problem with the design of the starter assembly. Suddenly there will be short circuit in the starter assembly which results in fire. After the first two cases, all midi buses were checked and those found to be fit were operated after the change in the faulty starters”, said a BMTC official.

Re: Pics: Accidents in India

This video of a Nexon EV car catching fire is doing rounds on social media. I know this exact place where this happened as my parents live nearby (Thane Vasai area). Apparently the car was smoking initially and then caught fire. I would think the local fire department would know how to deal with EV fires, but they seem to be using water jets, to no avail.

I am not speculating anything about the car since we do not know anything about the car history and news channels are known to jump guns. Attaching the link to a local news channel in marathi.
