Helllo! It IS an NHC. The previous gen Honda City. The City before ANHC! Not sure if it's an Exi/Gxi or ZX though!

Wonder what I speculated here?!

Re: Honda City on Fire

Wen Nano is on fire, its all over the news. But when the biggies face the same issue, media is all hush hush about it.

Wonder if its something's with the media and the big companies or a deliberate effort to defame the Nano

There's a thread by someone who saw sparks inside the cabin and that was attributed to the power window switch, right?

But is the power window switch issue capable of a fire of this magnitude?

This is the second recall of the Honda City model in thirteen months. In January last year, Honda had recalled the Sedan to replace defective power window switches that could cause fire.

The difference here is, Nanos which were reported to have caught fire were either getting delivered or soon after delivery. In a old car, it is a different thing and it could have taken place due to band maintenance or getting something installed incorrectly.

Re: Accidents : Vehicles catching fire

snorting bull - that was a NHC - I too passed it same time as deutche...in the opposite direction and passed very near to it - and what part of the picture makes you think it is not a NHC ??

I hope no one was hurt in the incident.

As I've said before, the public would not care if I had an accident in my car and died. The newspaper report would say car accident. But if I'd died in a Nano, it would be all over the media, because it was newsworthy. Media people would not need to be paid to make a big news if SRK killed someone in his car, right?

I think that the difficulty in accessing the engine is to blame for the Nano accidents. The rear panel needs to be unfastened for complete access to the engine. It's likely that the new Nanos which caught fire were victims of badly done PDI.

Re: Accidents : Vehicles catching fire

Dont newer generation vehicles have a fuel cut off feature in case of an accident?.

As of now, AFAIK, it gets triggered only on collisions, but I think short circuits, electric malfunctioning, or even overheating should trigger it, to avoid these mishaps.

Re: Skoda Octavia goes up in flames

:O That is something really serious stuff!

I personally never liked the Skoda as a brand even though they have a good line up and have (in my opinion) the best looking cars available on Indian roads.

I hope the car owner is safe and so are the people around in that area.
