Unfortunately Life Hammer isn't sold in India. I had sourced it from US and had it carried to India, in person.

Life Hammer is a quality product and is made in the Netherlands. Its manufacturing quality is good and being manufactured in the First World, it can be construed to be reliable (I hope!). It generally has good reviews, so I purchased it.

There are several clones available in India. You can also search on Ebay India website, you'll find many clones on sale. I can't vouch for their reliability though.

Beware that this tool (like Airbags) HAS TO work the very first time (and perhaps the only time) it is pulled in an emergency. It simply shouldn't fail. If the luck is running bad, one might need it soon, or maybe sometime far in the future, or perhaps never.

So, the tool should be robust. The hammer shouldn't rust, the blade should stand the test of time and plastic grip shouldn't deteriorate with time.

I've seen emergency hammers in few mini buses, bracketed to the rear emergency escape window frames, and they have rust all over them in the monsoon season.

I'd go for something reliable and not skimp on the cost, if I had the choice to choose between few models.

Just saw this Mercedes C class charred outside DLF Mega Mall, Gurgaon. There was an official Mercedes vehicle and engineers inspecting the scene . This happened right outside the block where I stay. Apparently the car was owned by one of the persons staying in the same block, very close to where this happened.
Hopefully, there were no casualties reported, when asked.

Saw a Versa/Eco catch fire before a week at Govandi. Don't know what or how, but it was engulfed like a volcano from all the sides. A water tanker was passing by and was stopped to put the flames out.

Audi Q7 catches fire, car next to it gutted.

A verna accidentally caught fire near thoraipakkam yesterday. None of the occupants were hurt.

The Bridgestone product too looks rugged and reliable, (and has the backing of Bridgestone behind it, though it has the pointy hammer on to only one side
