I highly recommend the Government run nature camp near Hebri on the foothills of Agumbe ghats. It is called Sitanadi nature camp. We stayed there for a long weekend during summer this year. It is simply mind blowing! Forest trekking, several waterfalls nearby, Agumbe sunset point is at around 15km from the camp and add to it a decent hospitality from Forest department workers(!).

Only drawback is you need to book by calling them and they insist on advance payment to confirm the booking. Book in advance as priority is always given to babus.

Theere is also river rafting on Sitanadi. Not sure whetre it will be posible in monsoon. You should also visit Agumbe Rainforest research Station who are doing research in King Cobra.
