Dear, Ampere, mercedised and car.lover, thanks for your responses.

Since the GQ route via Udaipur is quite an extra bit distance wise, my friend is inclined to use a shorter route. Also, as far as I know, getting onto NH8 from Mumbai is also a pain -specially the ghodbunder toll and the roads after Pune Mumbai expressway ends.

Someone has suggested me another route


Pune- Indore-Bhopal-Sagar-Jhansi

Can anyone please provide a quick feedback on the same?

I passed through Nagpur - Sagar - Gwalior - Agra - Delhi 2 weeks back.

I was told that the route through bhopla is not in a good shape. So, did Nagpur - Sagar via Chhindwada - Narsinghpur.

Narsinghpur to Gwalior roads are bad for initial 70kms.. You can budget 2 hours for this route.

Jhansi - Gwalior is not in great shape. You should budget around three hours for this in a Linea.

I am planning a Bangalore - Indore - Bangalore trip in Aug end. While going I will be stopping in Pune and then in Nasik for Ganesh festival and family visits.

But while returning I have only one day to reach Bangalore. So my question is can this be done in one day? I am considering the same route which is Indore-> Nasik -> Pune -> Bangalore for returning. Is there any other alternate route which is shorter/faster to reach Bangalore?

FYI - I have done several Pune - Bangalore trips and it generally takes me about 12 hrs with 4 short stops.

I am planning to visit Indore this weekend and need your valuable suggestion about road condition, route, stay etc. I have two options:

1. Bangalore - Hubli - Kolhapure - Satara - Pune - Ahmadnagar - Dhule - Indore
2. Bangalore - Tumakuru - Chitradurga - Solapure - Aurangabad - Dhule - Indore

Please help me with the current road conditions on both the routes. I am planning night stay in Pune if going via route 1 or else I have to plan in Solapure or Aurangabad if choosing route 2.

There is 6 laning happening from chitradurga to belgaum, which might be a pain. But apart from that I don't have any latest update on either of the routes.

Pune - Nashik - Indore should be the route you should take.

Thanks a lot for quick response, I will take Pune Nashik road. I went through this route sometime in 2013 and it takes long to reach the highway so I was planning to go via Ahmadnagar - Shirdi.

I hope the road condition is improved and will be faster than Shirdi road.

I travelled to Indore from Bangalore - Pune - Nasik and return the same route in October first week. There were lot of diversion Bangalore Pune road in Karnataka side and while going it was Sunday evening so Satara till Pune it was heavy traffic.

Overall drive was good with some rough surface and potholes on NH3 highway because of rainy season.

I am again planning to travel to Indore in second week of November and want to go via Bangalore - Zaheerabad (overnight stay) and then Zaheerabad to Tuljapur - Beed - Aurangabad - Dhule - Indore, please suggest the rout condition and can cover Zaheerabad to Indore in one day.

also please suggest if I can take Zaheerabad to Bhopal route.

- Chitradurga-Bijapur is great except for the unmarked speed breakers.
- Bijapur-Solapur has lot of diversions with many speed breakers. It is manageable since there aren't bad sections per se.
- Solapur-Aurangabad is in great shape.
- Aurangabad-Verul - High traffic 2 lane.
- Verul-Kannad - 4-laning in progress with bad sections.
- Kannad ghat is good but unpredictable.
- Kannad-Chalisgaon had good 2-lane with surprise craters. Manageable as long as you keep your distance with vehicle ahead.
- Chalisgaon-Dhule - OK road with 80-90 doable for the most part.

These are based on my trip in Dec 2019. It took me 12-13 hours to do Osmanabad-Indore with a 45 minute holdup at Kannad and an hour at Dhule for food.

I see no reason to take Bangalore-Hyderabad-Solapur route

2. Bangalore-Adilabad-Nagpur-Betul-Harda-Indore

Am told Betul-Harda has some bad sections.

Hi guys,

I need to travel from Pune to Jhansi tomorrow.
Google shows the Pune - Sinnar - Indore - Guna - Shivpuri - Jhansi route.
Other options are
1. Indore - Ujjain - Shivpuri (2 hours / 90kms extra)
2. Sinnar - Aurangabad - Jalna - Wardha - Nagpur - Sagar - Jhansi (1.5 hours / 300 kms extra)

Option 2 has the newly made samruddhi mahamarg, which may be a good option.
Any suggestions on which route to take / road conditions.

I don't want to push myself to do it in one go - so what would be a good place for a night halt?
