Re: The mega "Road Updates" thread

Seems it is a good thread to have all in one road information. But we all road query updaters and querying people should use this thread and make awareness to others too.Till today I was posting in different different threads to get update.Let me try here and see the response for the future needs.

Re: The mega "Road Updates" thread

@ampere, @selective,

thanks for your guidance. Google Maps give me a route Sarjapur Rd, Bengaluru, Karnataka to Kabini River Lodge - Google Maps which does not touch Mysore. Infact, it routes me through the KRS road and then through to SH120. Any information on the road condition?

Do you plan to go to Serai or Jungle Lodges?

If you are going via Mysore, then take the ORR and hit the Mananthvadi road, which
would take you to JLR.

I think even first route I posted is wrong. (That is the destination point is not right).

Here is the correct one:

SH 17 to Unknown road - Google Maps

Go via ORR and take the Mananthvadi road exit (Goes to HD Kote).
About 60km from ORR exit from Mysore road you would start to see directions to JLR.

(Jungle Lodges and not Jaguar Land Rover! )

Re: The mega "Road Updates" thread

What is the current shape of NH-9 between Hyd and vijaywada?
And the Nh-5 from thereon to Calcutta? Of particular interest is the NH-5 in orissa, after all the recent heavy rains and flood.
I am starting for Calcutta on 30th.

Re: The mega "Road Updates" thread

Dear Road users who are using the roads in Tamilnadu,
Please keep in mind there is one Bye election of Assembly and the Local elections are to take place in October. There is restriction of carrying big amount of cash with you. There is checking here and there though you may carry legal amount for your use if you are find with big amount like 50K 100K you may be questioned. Better avoid taking cash and use your ATM cards.

Could someone update regarding the current status of this route?
Hi All, back from Goa trip yesterday. The route from Hyd to Goa via hubli is good, except few bumpy places.
I have taken Route Hyd-Raichur-Bagalkot-Belgaum-Amboli-Panaji while going.
Return Route is Gokarna-Hubli-Raichur-Hyderabad.

Re: The mega "Road Updates" thread

So umm.. Bangalore - Goa, via Ankola. Which is the best route to take? We don't mind if it's a little longer as long as the roads are smooth. Ampere, HVK, anyone?

Re: The mega "Road Updates" thread

IMO, it would be a good idea to have Zone wise oR (combination of few states) thread on roads!

Best route at the moment is Blore-Hubli via NH4 then get onto NH63 at Hubli and go via Yellapur-Ankola-Karwar-Panjim.Do not go via NH4A/Ramnagar etc all in bad condition. The other option is to go via Belgaum-Amboli-Sawantwadi-Banda-Panjim.But NH17 around sawantwadi and around the MH-Goa border has been reported to be broken up.If it is North Goa that you are headed, then maybe you could consider the Amboli route, else nh63 is the best bet.

As Ranjit mentioned, the regular route is better. NH4/63/17.
No point taking chances with broken roads during monsoons.

We shall take the NH4 to Hubli and then divert onto NH63 and via Yellapur-Ankola-Karwar-Panjim. The Belgaum-Amboli-Banda-Panjim route is not on the cards, since we intend to stop by at Aversa for the night and then proceed the following afternoon to Goa.

Thank you very much fellas!

Re: The mega "Road Updates" thread

Beware of Chennai Roads,
From Medavakkam koot road to Kovilambakkam road is horrible near Vellakkan,Nanmangalam areas. If you are careless the pits are big enough to scratch your chassis. Beware of the road coming towards Taramani to Velachery(Vijayanagaram)
