i checked your post on car rentals in chennai. You have mentioned about the getscar. Actually I am planning for a weekend trip to hyderabad.

Even i called the getscar guys, they quoted 2000 for swift diesel. 300kms per day. deposit 5000 and 5 per km on extra km.

please let me know any other players in chennai, who is providing cars for rent.

Do u know anyone personally who can rent us a car for 2 days.

I'm in need of a Endeavour/Fortuner 8 seater for 4 days in late December(SELF DRIVE). Does anyone know of any rental where I can get these. I heard Avis Chennai used to give Endeavour on selfdrive, but its not available in their website now.

Please advice.

Difficult to get the high end cars on self drive.You could check with autoriders.

Hi Guys

Looking for any recommendations from the board for reputable hire car operators in Chennai. I'm looking to go for self-drive option and picking at a central location in Chennai will need the car for around 4 days. Preference is for something like a sumo preferably with the ABS and Airbags etc.

Also, if anyone can give personal experience RE scams by local operators that'd be very much appreciated.

I guess Carzonrent does not have self-drive services in Chennai. If you check on their site Chennai is not listed in drop down box.

Pretty much, if their business is slick like their website they would've been a good option .

I googled + emailed about 10 "businesses" offering cars for self drive on a hire basis and only got one response back....3 days later. Any recommendations appreciated Any people strictly to avoid would be appreciated too. I know the driving conditions and don't want to held ransom for damages that I didn't inflict etc.
