Planning for a Coimbatore Tirupati trip. Since the 6 laning is going on between Krishnagiri and Vellore, alternative roads are considered.

How is the Ambur-Gudiyatham-Chittor route?

My vote would be for the NH7 inspite of the 6 laning,you should be able to do good speeds

May not be a bad idea. I was just looking at Google maps. Thats the default suggestion it comes up with. I dont know about the roads though,
but it definitely helps bypass Vellore and Katpadi. And that is a BIG advantage, unless you want to have food at Saravana Bhavan in Vellore.
