Re: Chennai - Mantralayam - Nava Brindavan

Suggested circuit :

Chennai - Bangalore - Chitradurga - Hospet

Hospet - Munirabad - Anegundi - ferry to Nava brundavana and back - Gangawati - Sripuram Junction ( near sindhanur ) - Siruguppa - Harivanam - Adoni - Mantralayam

Mantralayam - Yemmiganur - Kodumur - Kurnool - Nandyal - Mahanandi

Mahanandi - Kadapa - Rajampet - Renigunta - Chennai

You may find bad roads in these stretches in KA :

Munirabad to Anegundi ( after diversion from NH13 )
Siruguppa to Harivanam ( 18 kms of potholed roads - border area )

I have no idea of road condition from Kurnool to Mahanandi

If you have extra days, suggest tour Hampi ( one day tour from Hospet ). From Mantralayam, you could visit Panchamukhi Hillock and also Kallur Lakshmi temple near Raichur.

Hope this helps..

Kurnool - Nandyal : The highway is getting converted to a 4 laned. Lots of constructions activity, diversions slows you down but day time travel will not be bad.

Nandyal - Mahanandi : is about 18 kms and road condition is good.

I think its good to go via Bangalore (esp. Chitoor side).

You can do Chennai-Chittoor-Hoskote-Devanahalli (On to NH-7) - Gooty - Adoni - Mantralayam.

Re: Chennai - Mantralayam - Nava Brindavan

Thanks guys.

Dates are confirmed its Jan 3, 4, 5 and 6. I would start on 2nd evening itself from Chennai.

Places so far collected to cover

1) Nava Brindavan -Anegundi
2) Mantralayam
3) Mahanandi
4) Raichur Mahalaxmi temple
5) Hampi (optional if time permits)

Questions to experts

1) Any other on the way temples "Must" cover?
2) Any one care to give best itinerary for the places and dates?
3) Accommodation and eateries on the go?

Thanks
R
