I think you'd have already started, but I have a question. Why do you want to go to Rohtang in this month? I don't think you'd see any snow there. Back from Leh last month via Rohtang. It was completely dry.

In one of your posts, I see you worrying about some hairpins. Man, you are going to Himalayas, what will you do on Chandigarh - Manali section? It's all hills and quite a few hairpins. It takes about 8-10 hrs to do this stretch.

Higher reaches did get snowfall 2 days back. So he just might be in luck if the weather pattern continues.

We wanted to avoid hairpins if possible. Yeah in Himalayas no other option of course !
Luckily it snowed on the day we went to Rohtang and we had great fun driving in the snowfall.
