Good day Gentlemen,

I intend to drive from Pune to Bhuj and back. I will be driving a Skoda Fabia Diesel.

Would really appreciate if anyone can advise regarding the following.

1. Best Route
2. Place for a night halt.
3. Any places en - route to visit - Short halts only.
4. Any other useful tips

Pune-Thane-Surat-Vadodara-Ahmedabad-Bagodara-Chotila-Bamanbore-Morbi-Gandhidham-Bhuj (and then wherever you would like to)

2. Place for a night halt.
Pune to Kutch in a day will be Tedious. Will need at least 9-10 Hours for Ahmedabad alone. Hence, Ahmedabad makes a lot of sense for a Halt.

3. Any places en - route to visit - Short halts only.
Well, not much at least till Ahmedabad where you can certainly make a visit to Adalaj Step well, GIFT City (for kids) since you will be halting here anyways and the next day drive will not be too long to reach Kutch


4. Any other useful tips
Original Documents, Valid emission test certificate, Yellow Sticker on the right hand side headlight, Service Booklet for Emergencies (for your car).

From Ahmedabad, now shorter route which connects to NH8A near Malia and passes through Sanand, Dhrangadhra and Halwad has also become good.

It is a proper four lane highway constructed by L & T, and as per google maps, this road is now called NH 947.

If you search google maps, It will show this route as first option.

Bhachau Bhuj:
Also there is a direct road from Bhachau (On NH8, around 38 kms before Gandhidham) to bhuj via Dudhai,Kanaiyabe villages. This road is shorter and also bypasses Gandhidham and Anjar, only issue is ongoing four lane conversion work on this road. The work was stuck up due to environment clearance for some time, Last I heard that work was almost completed but some stretches/diversions were pending, not sure about current status.

Also on NH8, between Samakhyali to Gandhidham, work is going on for six lanning, again please check with somebody who have driven recently, as I am not very sure about exact status.

Planning to travel this week. Any update on the Ahmedabad-Sanand-Dhrangadhra-Malia-Bhachau-Dudani-Bhuj route?

Does this have good places to eat and COCO pumps? Current road conditions?

4 lane, toll free for cars. Shell pump near Sanand and multiple relianace pumps. SugarnSpice before Malia or cafe coffee day after Malia.
