Hyd - Gadwal - Sindhanur - Dharwad - Candolim.

I read either on this thread or another one that the Gadwal to Sindhanur stretch is in shambles. But I am not sure of recent developments.

Seeing large number of unscientific speed breaker in the national highway 150A which covers this Hyderabad - Goa route, I had raised a complaint with http://pgportal.gov.in/ (Related Team-BHP thread)

Surprised to see response with Morth/NHAI, also good news as it looks like according to a previous complaint, they have decided to remove 17 unscientific speed breaker and replace with Rumble strip as mentioned in another document attached.

Seeing this document, it seems speed breakers is illegal, and only rumble strip can be put in National highways.

Hopefully next Goa ride will be better.

I guess, we just need to raise complaints on each highway where we see unscientific speed breakers are put, in this website - http://pgportal.gov.in/ . This will help us to remove these speed breakers from national highways.

I'm travelling tomorrow, starting at 4 PM my plan is:

Hyd to Goa:
Hyderabad- Annasagar- Deosugur- Lingsugur- Bagalkot- Belgaum- Chorla- Candolim

I want to drive till 10 or 11 PM maybe and stay overnight at Bagalkot and continue next day to reach Candolim.

Is this above one good to drive or any other options?

while returning, I'm planning to take :
Cavala- Londa- Dharwad- Sindhanur- Raichur- Mehaboobnagar- Hyderabad

Any suggestions?

We rode on our motorcycles in March 2017 to Goa

Route info is available in Post # 2 and Post #5

If you start at 4:00pm, I doubt if you can reach Bagalkot by 10:00pm. It will be easily midnight or past

Which route has less speed breakers:
Hyderabad > Parigi > Sedam > Kalaburagi > Jevargi > Bijapur > Bagalkot > Belagavi > Amboli > Panjim
or

Hyderabad- Annasagar- Deosugur- Lingsugur- Bagalkot- Belgaum- Chorla- Candolim

First route does not have any speed breaker.

Second route also you will find speed breakers only at Lingsugur and not at rest of places

Any recent update on road conditions between Annasagar and Devarkadra.
2 weeks back I drove on Bhuthpur - Mahabubnagar stretch and its good.
Was thinking of doing Annasagar - Devarkadra if its better than Bhuthpur.

The road between Jadcherla and Mahabubnagar is being four laned.
Buthpur Mahabubnagar is a better option.

I've taken this route: Hyderabad-Annasagar-Deosugur-Lingsugur-Bagalkot-Belagavi-Chorla-Candolim while going,
Annasagar ->Deosugur: Patchy Roads, lot of Speed Breakers
Deosugur->Lingsugur: Good roads with lot of speed breakers
Lingsugur ->Bagalkot: Good roads with lot of speed breakers
Bagalkot->Belagavi: Good roads, scenic drive with occasional speed breakers
Belagavi->Chorla: little bit narrow ghat, minimal traffic, have to pay toll fee of 250/-
Chorla-> Candolim: Narrow Goa roads
to Summarize I wouldn't recommend this route

While returning I tool:
Baga > Amboli >Belagavi> Mudhol>Jamkhandi> Vijaypura>Jevargi> Kalaburagi>Sedam> Pargi>Hyderabad though this route is longer but excellent roads with minimal speed breakers, I felt Amboli was not required, instead one could take Chorla. so the best route possible to Goa is :
Hyderabad -Pargi-Sedam-Kalaburagi-Jevargi-Vijaypura-Jamkhandi-Mudhol-Belgavi-Chorla-Goa

I did this on June 5th.

What would be the best possible route for Hyderabad<->Goa trip. The trip is planned around August 10-15, when monsoon would be active. The car to be taken is a Baleno petrol hatch with 4-5 adults on board, so good roads are desired. Any pointer would be helpful.

Also can anyone point out whether it is safe to drive at night in that route?

Thanks in advance,
Ashis

Destination within Goa is important to be known for correct advise.
No known reports of untoward incidents but most of the routes to Goa and back are isolated roads with few and far settlements in between.
Many TBHPians from Hyderabad will be there during that period. Most I know are headed to Candolim-Baga area.

Thanks for the info. My friends are first-time visitors and would be going to the same area. Can you let me know the route they should use?

Will try to connect with the T-Bhpians if I decide to join my friends on this trip.
