Pune - Velneshwar - Chiplun route help

I have booked MTDC, Velneshwar in September. Google map shows 3 options:
1. Pune-Khopoli-Pali-NH17-Chiplun
2. Pune-Tamhini-Mangaon-NH17-Chiplun
3. Pune- Bhor ghat-poladpur-NH17-Chiplun

Nh17 from Pen to Vadkhal was in worst shape 3-4 months ago.
Need currents inputs on Tamhini, Bhor ghat.
I am not a great fan of winding roads, would prefer a faster route.

Navimaps shows a route as below
Pune-NH4-Satara-Umbraj-Patan-Chiplun
This route looks more straight but add 40KMS to the journey.

Please help. Which would be the best route to take with present road conditions.

Pune-Tamhini-Mangaon-NH17-Chiplun would be better if the 3 options are to be compared. Avoid Bhor as the road is narrow and has deep cuts on each side of the tar which makes very slow driving in case someone approaches from other side.

Pune-NH4-Satara-Umbraj-Patan-Chiplun is a best bait if you can make sure that the Kumbharli ghat road is in good condition. Dont worry about the additional 40 KMs as the travel will be fast till Patan at least. I cannot confirm about the ghat section road though.

Have travelled from Chiplun to Pune sometime back (same route mentioned by Figopian). The roads were hassle-free. Since the monsoons are not at their best this year, hope the road conditions haven't changed drastically.

Thanks guys. Heard from a friend, Tamhini is in good shape. Will do this 1 side and do the Umbraj-Patan the other way. Will update road conditions after the trip.

Please don't forget to update!!!
I will be travelling to Dapoli on 25th. I would travel thru Tamhini, would be good to know the latest road condition for sure.

3 months back i travelled from Chiplun to Poona and on advice of Chiplun resident i followed a different route. Surprisingly roads were good and i suggest this route:

Poona - Satara - Umbraj - Karad - ShahuWadi- Ambaghat - Sakharpa - Chiplun

Though longer time taken is almost same and very scenic drive.

@shubhendra, this route is about 100km longer (Pune - Umbraj - Chiplun is about 240km). It would take about 2 more hours...
