Hello Team BHPians,

I am planning to go for a safari in Kabini and I have a kid who is 2.5 years old. Can someone tell me if they allow kids of that age group in the safari?

I know they allow kids for Bandipur and Mudumalai safaris but no idea on Kabini/Nagarhole. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I don't think there is an age limit per se but they will ask the parents to keep the child in control - to avoid shouting, crying, etc that can attract attention of animals during the safari. Pretty much same as Bandipur/Mudumalai/K Gudi since these safaris are run by the forest department or jungle lodges.

I was at JLR Kabni couple of weekends back. There were children of all ages in different safari jeeps. So I don't think there is any age limit, or at least they are not enforcing any limit as such.

However, for smaller kids safaris in bouncy jeeps for some 3 hours may not be a pleasant experience. You may have to consider that too.

Right. Your co-safari-passengers will lose patience instantly even if your kid just says something in excitement ( I Guess, having paid so much for a night's stay, it perhaps is somewhat justified that the guests would like total peace ).

My kid was 2.5 when we avoided taking her on the jeep safari ( I didn't see any other young kid in the jeeps, but I did see one in the bus ), wife and I took turns to go on the jeep safari. However, I did take the kid on the boat safari - she wasn't crying or restless, but she was excitedly identifying animals/birds and that was enough to tick some passengers off

Official website says minimum age should be 5 years.
