Malshej Ghat to Lavasa to Amby Valley?

Hey guys!

Does anyone know if there's a road connecting Malshej Ghat to Lavasa to Amby valley? I want to ride from Malshej to Lavasa in Maharashtra, but I'm on a motorcycle, so just want to know if anyone has done the route and can give me some tips on the condition of the road and if its scenic enough to venture on.

If you are looking for some adventurous offroad route, then there is no such route. Infact there is no normal direct route. The only option is to take the regular route Malshej-Murbad-Karjat-Lonavla-Pawna-Lavasa.

Also, Maps shows a route that goes from Malshej to alephatta then towards narayangaon, chakan and touches Mumbai Bangalore from where one can head up to lavasa from wakad. Any thoughts on this route?

That is also one route. Its Nashik highway from Ale Phata till Pune.

From Wakad to Lavasa via Hinjewadi is a normal route.
Though I have never taken Lonavla -> Pavana -> Lavasa route but feel that it will be very scenic. Road conditions will be bad as compared to normal route.

Just did that route (Malshej - Narayangaon - Chakan - Talegaon) few days back. A good chunk of that road is Pune-Nashik highway and is in fantastic condition. From Chakan, I believe you can connect to Pune.. cross it and then from Chandnai Chowk, take the Paud route to Lavasa. From Lavasa, you would have to retrace your steps back till you hit the Paud-Mulshi-Tamhini ghat road. Somewhere in Tamhini ghat, you will find a right to Lonavala...Cloud 9 resort. Amby is a little bit ahead on the right.

Please note, Tamhini to Lonavala road conditions are typically average/below-average.

Planning to visit Lavasa tomorrow from Mumbai. Taking the old Mumbai-Pune highway and hence skeptical of the condition of the roads after this brutal monsoon and the lack of competency of some of the municipal authorities in MH.

How is the condition post Wakad/Hinjewadi?
