Have the following queries , would appreciate your reply.
Please let me know if this is right ?

If I have to make a trip to say Hosur and back from Bangalore.

Onward journey
1. Apply for an e-Pass to enter TN
https://tnepass.tnega.org/

Return journey
2. Apply for an e-Pass to re-enter KA
https://serviceonline.gov.in/karnata...5MV8-LS0E-HBCD

And after you put in an online application what is the processing time for them to issue the e-pass ?

Yes, you are right. You need a TN ePass for your onward journey to Hosur and KA Seva Sindhu portal registration to return to Bangalore.

TN ePass approval takes from few minutes to few hours and most of the applications are getting rejected unless they have a very strong reason to travel. KA Seva Sindhu portal registration is almost instant, but they allow registration only for certain number of vehicles at each checkpost in a day. It was ~2000 per day few weeks ago for Attibele checkpost.

Also, please check the quarantine requirements. If you are not returning on the same day, you might need to undergo quarantine in TN. On your return, you need to undergo quarantine in BLR too.

Re: Interstate travel with the Covid-19 restrictions

I am planning to take a morning flight from Kochi to Bangalore and return by evening flight, purpose is to attend the COMEDK UGET on 19th Aug for my Son. Does this require quarantine after you are back in Kerala? Do we need to register in any websites for this.

Re: Interstate travel with the Covid-19 restrictions

Just putting out a feeler here.

Anybody travelling from Udupi/Mangalore to Mumbai/Pune soon?

I am looking for a ride to Pune and am willing to split the costs.

Re: Interstate travel with the Covid-19 restrictions

Does anyone know the number of checkpoints between Pune and Goa? I have some work that needs attention and will be making a day trip to head there and return immediately. I know for a fact that Shirwal bridge to cross over to Satara has a rather large checkpost which checks e-passes and also makes commuters get off their vehicles for inspection. But wasn't sure if similar checks happen further on.

Thanks Parag. And what process do they follow at each of these besides validating the e-pass? Do occupants need to get off everywhere for a test?

Here you go. Again quoting his exact messages:

Quote:
Validate E-pass, mainly. All Occupants don't need to get out of the car. Within MH, they saw the pass and let me through, I carried in a transparent folder so it's easier to sanitize in case it exchanged hands.

At karnataka border they took vehicle details, asked number of passengers etc.

Goa requires some time as they will take details of your covid test or if you are opting to get tested in Goa then obviously more time.

Perfect! This helps immensely. I forgot that I will be crossing into KA. Did he procure a separate pass for KA transit?

Sorry for the back to back posts. Should have asked all of this in one go

Re: Interstate travel with the Covid-19 restrictions

I am planning to travel from Bangalore(KA) to Noida(UP) via Nagpur-Jhansi in Unlock3.0.

1) Do I need epasses for all the states or just for the state of my final destination?
2) Do I need an epass for passing through Maharashtra given the restrictions in place till Aug 31st?
3) Can I layover for a night in Nagpur or this needs different permissions/documentation?
4) What other documentation beside epasses are necessary(Covid reports?) ?

From my initial online search it appears- KA, AP, TS, MP and UP should be no problems to pass through. But I might be wrong. MH I am not clear about.

Due to some personal exigency I am looking to do this trip soon. Flight is one option but I need the car since I will be posted in Noida for 2-3 months maybe more. Any help is much appreciated.

Sure. So I asked him again and this is what he replied:

Quote:
While going, I had applied, but it did not get approved on time, however, since the MH pass mentioned travel to Goa, they did not ask anywhere within KA for transit pass.

On the return leg, I got the approved transit pass, but yet again it wasn't checked or asked for.

Re: Interstate travel with the Covid-19 restrictions

Hi all,

I may have to travel to Delhi by flight and it will be a day trip. Would they ask me to home quarantine in Delhi? And on return will I be asked to quarantine in Bangalore?

Would appreciate if anyone who has traveled recently can shed some light on this.

Re: Interstate travel with the Covid-19 restrictions

As per the MHA order of 29th July there should no restriction on interstate travel.

Check out Section 5 below.

The removal of inter state travel restrictions aren't just a guideline, however states don't appear to be acting on it.

This was discussed 2 pages before too. That the orders were similar even during previous unlockdowns but the state authorities always had their say in this which is why ultimately, when it comes to securing ePass for interstate travel or quarantine rules, it is the state govt guidelines that take precedence over MHA. Sadly, this is also one reason why this thread has so many queries too because of that.

My colleague recently travelled by flight to Lucknow and returned to Bangalore after few days. He had to undergo home quarantine in both the places (though the enforcement was not strict in his native place in UP).

Please check the current rules for quarantine in Delhi. If you are returning on the same day, you might get an exception from quarantine in Delhi. You have to undergo 14 days home quarantine in Bangalore on your return.
