Re: Interstate travel with the Covid-19 restrictions

States Can Bring In Local Restrictions, Says Centre In New Covid Rules

Quote:
States can bring in restrictions locally, based on their assessment, but no activity will be restricted outside containment zones, the government said today in new guidelines to tackle a spike in Covid cases in parts of the country
After 1 year since the pandemic hit us, we now see every state taking expressive liberties blaming migration and inter-state travel for spike in Covid positive cases in their respective states and this recent directive from the center perhaps gives the state authorities more power to define further restrictions. Depending on how caseload increases in coming days we may also see restrictions getting extended to inter district travel too. I hope not!!

Thanks. Will keep that in mind.

Re: Interstate travel with the Covid-19 restrictions

As per latest news, beginning April 1, all interstate travellers to Bengaluru will need to furnish a negative RT-PCR Covid-19 test report.

Re: Interstate travel with the Covid-19 restrictions

We did travel to Udaipur from Ahmedabad yesterday with RT-PCR test results. However, to our surprise, nobody stopped us for any checks or anything. Last year in the month of May there ware large tents and details like Aadhar card number and all were noted for all travelers entering Rajasthan. This time, no such large tents, nothing. On another note, RJ roads, atleast till Udaipur from Shamlaji were not having much traffic yesterday, probably it was not weekend, but still less traffic than what it used to be earlier.

Re: Interstate travel with the Covid-19 restrictions

Has anyone experienced travelling through containment zones while driving through cities? For example, I was looking at containment zones in Thane and plotted them on Google Maps and realised, they fall in my way while driving from Ahmedabad to Bangalore.

Are we allowed to drive through containment zones or are they totally sealed from public access?

Re: Interstate travel with the Covid-19 restrictions

Planning a drive to Jaipur from Delhi next weekend. Is there a negative test mandated for people coming from Delhi to Rajasthan?

Yes travelling to Rajasthan from Delhi requires a Covid Negative RT-PCR test report with sample taken within 48 hours of journey. Please get a Covid test done for all travellers before travelling. I generally use Lal Path labs (app) and they give the results within 24 hours of collecting the samples. Though the checking at the border is just a formality, it would be best to get it done as they can send you back if you don't have it.

Officially yes. But sometimes cops don't ask.

Re: Interstate travel with the Covid-19 restrictions

Is rt-pcr report mandatory for KA entry now? Or is it from Apr 1 only? Is it at all entry points like Attibele and Mulbagal?

For everyone's benefit.

From April 1st, there will be a requirement of the RTPCR negative report for travel into Bangalore only and not any other part of Karnataka.

Re: Interstate travel with the Covid-19 restrictions

We are planning to drive from Bangalore to Kolkata next weekend. On the way, would be crossing Andhra Pradesh and Orissa, before entering West Bengal. Do we need to have a Report for all of us?

Re: Interstate travel with the Covid-19 restrictions

You do not require any test report OR permit to enter both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Don’t know about Orissa.
