I am planning a road trip from Mumbai to Mangalore on 13th April. Any update on border restrictions at Maharashtra-Karnataka. If test is mandatory, would it require an antigen or RT-PCR test negative report.

Request any frequent travellers to update on latest requirements. Even if the checks are random, would not risk travelling without a test if mandatory as family is coming along.

Guys, I hear Kerala has intensified the rules. Is there a mandatory quarantine imposed now for anyone travelling to the state with no relaxations on the days of stay? I recall it used to be mandatory for those staying in Kerala for over a week or so.

On the Mumbai Bangalore highway, cops check for negative PCR test record for all passengers at Nipani when entering the Karnataka state. Should be similar on other highways when entering Karnataka.

Has anyone driven from TN to Bangalore via Attibele after 1 April? I am headed to Blr this weekend with my wife and kid, and want to ensure there arent any RT-PCR requirements. There was a statement by the KA health minister in end March on enforcing RT-PCR for anyone entering Bangy from 1 Apr but this never got approved. Similar articles popped up earlier today hence wanted to double check... thanks !

The confusion now is around the fresh restrictions that seem to be kicking in from thursday (08.04.2021) which requires a 7-day home quarantine.

Looks like they were waiting for the elections to be over. The safest covid place in India this month is WestBegal. Thr virus is on leave for the month long election festival.
I am expecting more restrictions in Kerala Tamilnadu and Karnataka this week.

For those who can’t read Malayalam, it says for those who are travelling to Kerala and returning within 7 days need not stay in quarantine. For those who are staying for over 7 days, need to be quarantined and RTPCR test be done to confirm they do not have covid.

Update: Family travelled from Madhya Pradesh to Mumbai on 08th April without any checking across the border so I believe the pressure to check is only for travellers from specific high covid effected states and people travelling from Mumbai to other states.
