Friends any recommendations for the mentioned routes?

I m planning to visit Goa in first week of Dec, the route i am opting for is Nagpur-Kamareddy (Padmajiwadi)-Zahirabad-Humnabad-Gulbarga-Vijayapura-Bagalkot-Belgaum-Goa. Roads are in good shape across TS, hence its better to drive through TS & KA, rather than going via Nanded-Solapur.

From Belgaum which route are you planning to take? Chorla or Amboli?

Did Bangalore - Goa - Bangalore in mid October.

For the onward journey Google Maps recommended the route through Mollem and we set ourselves on that route. Approximately 20 kms after exiting the NH at Dharwad, we encountered a sign saying "Vehicles to Goa are not allowed due to road restoration works".

This forced us to go via Chorla Ghat and added additional 30 mins to our journey. The roads were okayish, quite bad in some stretches. Roads improve once you cross the border into Goa.

On the return journey we thought of catching the NH from Belgaum (knowing that it would add kms to our journey) to avoid the bad stretches on Chorla Ghat. This route took us via Tilari ghat and was a nightmare. The road is in horrendous condition and must be avoided. It ruined my already struggling front suspension which I had to replace on arriving in Bangalore.

Moreover, the climb is very steep, with quite a few hairpin bends. I am quite experienced in mountain driving, but this time I was using my archaic A-star automatic and it kept upshifting to 2nd gear, making the climb almost impossible at times.

Do share your experience once you're back from your trip. I am from Nagpur, too and plan to visit Goa by road, maybe in Jan or Feb.

Pls share about road conditions, eating joints, where to stay overnight, how long it takes to reach Goa, etc.

Unfortunately had to call off the trip at eleventh hour, Plan was to go to Candolim.

Google suggests 2 routes

Route 1 via Tilari - Nipani - Solapur - Jalna
Route 2 via Patradevi - Pandur - Kankavali - Karad - Satara - Ahmednagar - Jalna

Please let me know which one is preferred. Thank you
