That looks like a very elegant place to stay at the price you mentioned.
A quick question - how small (or big) is the small room .. I am assuming it should be decent enough for two.

It is perfect for 2, there is no TV in the room, but you wont need one there as i guess in Goa we spend most of the day roaming. But it is a very very pretty and quite place to stay.

For last couple of visits to Goa, have been staying at Deltin Suites, Nerul. Its about 2-3 kms from Candolim beach and on the road connecting Candolim to Panjim. Been very happy with the rooms and facilities. Least category is mini suite, AFAIK. There's a swimming pool and their brekfast spread is really good. Rates hover from INR5.5k to 8k per night depending on the season. They have ample of car parking for those bringing their own car. The best thing I like about this place is free pick and drop to their Casino - Deltin Royale, at any time of the day.

They can offer a package including the entry fee to the casino or only bed and breakfast as per your choice.

We wanted to try something different for our return. Planning to drive through rural karnataka with a halt somewhere near shimoga and drive shimoga kochi via waynad.

The return route is undecided. We have a day to halt for return.

Unless you are on a longer holiday, lets say 8-10 days, taking your car does not make sense for 1100 kms trip.
If you plan to complete it without an overnight halt, it means you will be driving for more than 16 hours, assuming an average speed of 70 (which is a very optimistic average on NH to be honest). An average speed of 60 per hour, coupled with some breaks and you are looking at a 20+ hour drive.
Taking your own car means you will need anywhere between 3-4 days only for the drive.


EDIT: I just returned from Goa on 17th and stayed at Radisson Candolim. It is a very good hotel, bang in the centre of Candolim and half a km walk to the beach. Their breakfast spread is good, has a well maintained swimming pool, a 24/7 restaurant which serves decent food and a pool table where space is constrained. Their service was pretty good.
This too is between 4-8k per room depending on the season, and the rate includes Breakfast.

Hi Richie, we ended up staying at Nanu Resort @ Betalbatim, as my wife and kid wanted to be near the beach. It took us 35 minutes from there to the Ramnathi temple on a Sunday morning, as there was hardly any traffic on the roads at that time.

Here is a brief review of Nazri Resort in Goa where i stayed earlier this week (Dec 2015) with wife and kid. Hotel website: http://www.nazriresort.com/

Backgound:
Was looking for a simple three star resort with no frills for 3 nights for a place in/around Baga beach.

When I googled on various travel sites for this resort I was taken aback with the kind of negative feedback which was provided on the sites. I was sure that I will not go ahead with this resort.

Two factors changed my mind
1. A friend had recently stayed here and gave a decent all around feedback
2. I was not getting accommodation in another chosen resorts for my dates.

Decided to take a leap of faith and my feedback is as below. It could be subjective but I hope it helps other

Resort is located in North Goa. Nearest railway station is Thivim.

What I liked:
1. Neat and clean resort with spacious rooms and a balcony for each room. The icing on the cake for me was the pool facing balcony! Note that all rooms have a balcony. Zero road/traffic noise specially for the pool facing rooms.
2. Adequate and secure parking with a parking attendant to guide you.
3. Smooth and quick check in process (Ensure that your spouse ID card is available as well!)
4. Bell Boy showed us the room and helped with the facilities in rooms.
5. Strong wifi in the room I stayed and in the lobby and pool areas as well. Did not try using the wifi though as I was happy with the mobile net.
6. Mini Bar in every room with adequate stock of liquors and soft drinks with dry starters as well. Rates of items are slightly more than MRP.
7. Help with arranging rental bikes and cars at the hotel.
8. Buffet breakfast has a good spread appealing to Indians and foreigners alike. Food quality is good. Did not try A-La-carte for lunch/dinner.
9. Mix of Indians and foreigners at the resort.
10. Massage parlor available at the hotel. Rates on higher side though. If this doesn't appeal to you then a few parlors available immediately outside the hotel.
11. Bathrooms are clean and hygienic. Bath tub present in the room with hold and cold water 24*7. There is a mounted and a hand shower.
12. Lift is present. Not the most modern one but fit for purpose!
13. Hotel is in market area with almost all types of shops/facilities in close vicinity
14. Cafeteria is next to the pool and food is served near the pool which is a great stress buster and adds to the ambience.
15. Swimming pool timings are adequate. Pool is neat, clean and well maintained with a kids pool area as well.


What I did not like:
1. There is no kids play area.
2. Wifi user id and password not communicated at check in. Ask for it separately.
3. Wifi not available everywhere in the resort.
4. Very few channels available on TV and reception was spotty as well.
5. Hotel has a policy of no outside food which did not go well with me.
6. Electronic Safe in the room was difficult to operate (and I am tech savvy!).
7. Some of the staff are rude in their approach.
8. Water in the bath shower alternated between hot and cold water even though the setting was for hot water.
9. Place is more than a KM away from the beach. Not 0.5 KM as mentioned on the travel portal/hotel site.
10. Need to compulsorily wear lycra for the pool dips. It was clarified earlier but did not go down well with me. Choice of lycra available at pool for sale was inadequate.

All in all this was an excellent value proposition for the money I paid and me and my family thoroughly enjoyed the stay. We look ahead to staying at this place once again.

Recommended Hotel Stays in Goa : No Drive Due to Near Misses on Highways!

Hi Guys,

Kids are pushing me for a goa trip next month. After few near misses on highways, no permission for long drives.

Have booked the flight tickets to and fro. Now the only thing left out is the hotel accommodation.

The only place I trust is Team-bhp.

Can anyone recommend good hotels in Goa ? Please.

Wifey's requirements: She wants to be within city limits. I have no clue on the geography of Goa as such. When she means city, if I understand right, easy access to travels, places for shopping, food etc.

Kids: They want to visit the beach whenever they want. And ofcourse, all the historical places they were taught in school or watched in movies. Damn, I wonder if I can see the places.

Me: No driving, Need to take care of jumping kids: Need 4 eyes and ears open 24/7.

Planning to book into a decent hotel, which can provide travel services, if possible ( or any of your recommended travel agents would be of great help), clean rest rooms and decent food.

Please help me out guys. Depending on Bhpians on inputs. Will book accordingly.

In March, I had stayed at a place called Hotel Fahrenheit. It was located on Baga beach, with the beach being accessible from their back entrance. Tito's was 5- 10 mins walk away. The hotel was comfortable (the property is a bit compact though), and the buffet breakfast adequate. Did not have lunch or dinner there. The best thing was that for a family, the space could be easily "partitioned" into two, with TV sets in both the partitions. This gave enough space and privacy to us as well as our kids.

I had driven down, so did not use their travel services, but I did see two innovas, owned by the hotel, in the parking lot.

Had been to Goa a couple of months back. Stayed at Chalston Resort, right on Calangute beach.
Nice large rooms, awesome food, and 24*7 access to the beach.

There's a place called "Bardayz Inn" . Its about half a km away from Calangute beach right on Calangute main road. Its not a resort, just accomodation and its very easily accessible to Calangute beach. The prices are decent, and the accomodation comes with a living + bed room.

Well, I really need some help here! Planning a trip to Goa in the second week of September, but it has to be just the South. Will be driving down from Cochin. I'd love to stay in a beach shack, and explore the scenic roads in South Goa. However, I'm unable to find any shack that's gonna be open during September. Well, if I were to stay in a resort or a hotel, might as well look at an alternate destination. I'm in love with Palolem, but unable to find any shack accommodation. Anyone who can help?

Looking for nice hotel in Bardez preferably in and around Arpora and Baga. Any suggestions apart from La Sunila and Apple House as they are already sold out in October.
