@steer: will call a pal in manali today who runs a touring taxi service to leh.his vehicles do daily trips ferrying tourists.
the best we can do from here is make a good estimate as scientific as possible and just do it.
the weather Gods rule either way inspite of the best forecast

No doubts Leh is a Must go place on your vehicles, since you can enjoy the view , air and speed, My freinds who had been to Leh from Delhi generally took 12-14 days off for the trip. Those travelling with children should make sure that the child is in good health before starting the journey.
