It is possible to drive through both, but not enough to spend time!

Thanks for the Info

Thank you for the Information. I heard there is road from Kodaikanal to Munnar through Mattupatti (Rajmalai National Forest). Is the road is closed or do I need to take permission from forest dept to travel...

There was a direct road from Kodaikanal to Munnar (90 kms) via Berijam Lake and Top Station, but it is closed nowadays to deter illegal logging and ganja cultivation. You will not get permission to travel on this road which in any case is also dug up - I have done it in the good old days (1988) in a bike when it was a jungle path.

Is that top slip or top station ???? i have done the kodai munnar road in 1998, the road was bad but the forest was great. we camped the night there & took our time reaching munnar. You have to take the permission from the forest folks for that which i managed. Fantastic forest reserve & yes there is a lot of restriction entering this place, i think it is closed permanently now.

Top Station is 30 kms from Munnar via Mattupetty and Kundale. Top Slip is near Pollachi in TN (near Coimbatore), a Wild Life Sanctuary, around 40 kms from Pollachi via Anamalai and Srthumadai. Beyond Top Slip is Parambikulam in Kerala, all great tusker, bison and boar country.

The Munnar-Kodai road is permanently closed.
