Hi Guys,
Today I came to Hosur from Hyderabad and it was an excellent drive I had. Tomorrow I am planning to go for HOgenakkal Falls and I would like to know the route details. My friends told me there is a way via Raikota which is shorter than the Krishnagiri-Dharmapuri route. Is this road better. Suggestions highly appreciated.

Avoid the rayakotta road. The GQ is a way better option.

yes the Raikottai road is shorter, but not very good. If you like winding roads in not so great condition but with a scenic drive, you can take it.

Hosur->Krishnagiri is GQ. Then its NH7 till Dharmapuri. Its being converted to a 4 laner. So traffic is slow. Dharmapuri to Hogenekkal is ok kinda road.

Actually after Krishnagiri->Kaveripattnam there is a right which joins the Hosur->Raikottai->Dharmapuri route. You can take that as well if you are adventurous and know tamil.

Hi,
Take Denkanikota route instead of Rayakottai...
Road till Denkanitkota is excellent and newly laid...I think it will be better / improved after that as well...
I suggest u try out:
Hosur - Denaknikota - Anchati - Pennagaram- Hogenakkal falls

Dont take the right turn from Kaveripatnam, it is very bad near palakodu

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately I was not able to see your message. I have taken the right turn from Kaveripatnam and as u said, it was in a very bad condition for almost 10 km. After that it was okay. Anyway I had a great experience riding to Hogenakkal. The water flow was more and we could not get to the main falls in the boat. But, it was a great experience watching the falls. woudl post the details in a seperate thread.

Couldn't find a better thread to ask...
I am planning a visit to Hogenakkal from Bangalore. Google maps suggests three routes

1. Thro denkanikottai
2. Thro Rayakottai
3. Thro Dharmapuri.

Which one is good at this time? Also, I would like to avoid narrow roads. (2 lanes are fine though)

The one via Dharmapuri is the fast. Take the 4-lane via Krishnagiri to Dharmapuri and then head to Hogenakkal via Pennagaram.

Planning to do a Bangalore - Hogenakkal bike ride this Sunday. Will be starting by 5 in the morning and planning to reach by evening at max.

Requesting your inputs to let me know if the NH till Dharmapuri and then Pennagaram route is the one to choose or the Denkanikottai/Rayakottai route can be taken? Anybody who has traveled there recently and can help with information about the condition of the roads?

To ride comfortably: Bangalore -> Dharmapuri -> Pennagaram -> Hogenakkal. Suggesting this for the lone reason that the roads are wide and not much risky.
