7. You will notice that I am not recommending Bangalore. Don't drive through Bangalore. It is horrible. I live here.

7. One more recommendation... If you plan on doing 11-13 hour marathon stretches, make sure you have expressways or divided highways for most of that time. Doing 11-13 hours on undivided highways is asking for trouble. Take more stops. So what if you take a few more days? This is a once in a lifetime journey. Do it with less stress
Thanks so much , will keep all this in mind while traveling.

Yes , I think driving first to kanyakumari and then going up will be good idea .
Thanks all for the tips

Agree this is an excellent option >> Ooty-Mysore-Bangalore/Coorg.

Damm I wish I had the time to invest in such a long trip but anyway since your are travelling with a 4 year old, you must stop frequently to help her stretch a bit and make sure you check the place where you stop before letting your kid out of the car. You never know any OPEN BOREWELL, REPTILES and what not.

Re: Help us plan! Jammu to Kerala and back over 30 days

Hello everyone!

As planned we have started our road trip already, Jammu to Kerala.
We left Jammu on 18th March at around 1:30 pm and reached our destination Nawashehar (Punjab) by 6:30 pm.

Interestingly, the same day, infact as we were approaching Jallandhar, news of Amritpal's arrest (near Jallandhar) started doing the rounds. We changed our route (fearing road blockage) and went to Nawashehar via Hoshiyarpur. Must say better view than the route that is via Jallandhar.

After our 2 days stay, we started from Chandigarh for Jaipur on 20th March at around 5 pm. Sudden rain showers and traffic chaos made our journey from Chandigarh to Ambala border little hectic.
But as soon as we took the Ambala bypass to the Ambala Kotputli expressway, it was again a smooth drive. The newly inaugurated expressway has good options to cater to the needs.

We reached Jaipur around 11.30 pm.
But soon realised we have lost our high security front number plate. We tried calling few police stations in near vicinity but in vain !
Stayed at Army guest house.

On 21st March, after registering FIR about the lost Number plate, we started for Mandsaur (MP).
Fortunately we had plain number plate kept in the boot (got during the vehicle delivery last year).

Reached around 8.30 pm, we stayed at Circuit House Mandsaur. Good property with not so good maintenance but courteous staff.

Today we are by the banks of Namrada river, Akbarpura, Khal Bujurg near Maheshwar (MP). Nammadus- Water Front Resort a very good option for a longer halt to stay midst of nature in peace. We luckily got the privated pool room. The sunset view over the Narmada from the balcony is worth every penny.
Planning to stay here tomorrow as well.

We'll keep updating on this thread

Thank you for the support and concern.

Take care !

We got R for Rabbit infant car seat when she was just born. After an year we got Luvlap car seat which is still in use. Our daughter, we call her Bobo, is well adapted being in the car seat fully strapped.

We are using one already, Luvlap. When our daughter Bobo was born we got her R for Rabbit infant car seat. She is well adapted right from the beginning. Her first road trip started when she was 20 days old. We could think of road travel only because we had infant seat.
Having the car seat gives sense of safety. It's one of the most sensible investment when planning road trips along with kids.
Thank you for bringing this topic in this thread.
